Today is World Rabies Day. A day to bring awareness and talk about rabies prevention!

The rabies vaccine is legally required in Alaska for cats and dogs (ferrets too!) over 4 months of age. Although we don't see too many rabies cases in Alaska, we'd like to keep it that way and we're sure you do too.

Since we can't vaccinate wildlife animals likes foxes, caribou, wolves and moose we can do our best to prevent our furry loved ones from contracting rabies by keeping their rabies vaccine up to date.

Watch until the end to see equipment we use for most anesthetic procedures 🦷 Sometimes pets break their teeth and we may not even realize it until their examination with a veterinarian. Pets are so tough and stoic, they don’t always tell us if something is bothering them or what they need.Did you know some superficial “simple” fractures can be “fixed” if they aren’t too severe and aren’t causing any pain? To prevent the tooth from further damage, we are able to use a special sealant on the tooth to preserve it and hopefully avoid any more breakage!
