This mare is the real deal in a small package. I will be picky who buys her. She requires a soft hand because she is extremely broke and feely. She excels in small pens and bulls & barrels rodeos. Jackpots are not her favorite but she will make the same run every time. Rodeo performances are her favorite. She loves a crowd and she will give you everything she’s got every single time. Previously was shown NCHA cutting and sorting. 10k in ncha earnings. She will still work a cow nicely but could use a tune up if that’s what you want to do with her.

Her style is natural. Keep her fit and run her. She doesn’t need tuning, no exhibitions, just show up and run she always finds the barrels. Put your hand down, stay out of her way, use your feet and let her do her job.

Started on poles but not finished.

Firecat has qualified me for the Rice Bullriding finals every year since 2018. She was the 2022 Rice Bull Tour Reserve champion only by 40$. Has ran some WPRA rodeos, won a check at Madison WI, just out of the money at a few others.

This mare has taught me more than I can ever ask for. She owes me nothing but she’s not ready to retire. She LOVES to work and hates to sit. Which is why she is for sale. I am focusing on breeding and futurity horses. She deserves to keep going because she loves it.

Ecxeptional ground manners, will tie to anything, clips, bathes, loads and hauls well. I have owned her since she was 7. She is in the top of pecking order in my group of mares.

Maintenance routine:
Runs on lasix
Ulcerguard when hauling a lot
Hocks + Stifles yearly
SI as needed depending on how hard you’re hauling
Meso therapy in her back, she has a few close vertebrae non surgical easily maintained with meso.
4 shoes all year, 2° wedges in the hinds

As much as I hate to do it I will be posting Firecats official sale ad later today. I will be picky where she goes and it will have to be the right fit for horse and rider. With continuing my futurity and breeding goals, I won’t have as much time for her as she deserves. Ideally looking to sell to a small adult or experienced youth that wants a bulls and barrels horse. She excels in small pens. Not a big pen horse.

Mocha sure was coming along nice. I wish she would’ve had her chance to show everyone how amazing she was going to be but I’m grateful I got to have some really good rides on her.

The mind and athleticism she had was so fun and she was a big girl too.

Trouble finished out our 2024 season with a nice run to be second in the 1D open adult and second open today ❤️

Just because Yellowstone did it doesn’t mean it’s correct. BANAMINE DOES NOT GET ADMINISTERED IN THE MUSCLE. IV ONLY

Yellowstone fans that are real horse people got a little confusing information on the Sunday, November 17, 2024 episode. This popular show appears to take pride in its western production on being very authentic - yet some how they had a BIG mistake with treating a horse with intramuscular Banamine.

What is the BIG deal? In this Yellowstone episode a horse was administered Banamine (Flunixin Meglumine) intramuscularly. Yet the nonsteroidal, anti-inflammatory is only administered orally (in the mouth) or intravenously (in the vein). Remember Banamine is never recommend to be administered to horses any other way.

Why not? Banamine causes muscle damage when injected intramuscularly! There are spores of bacteria known as clostridium that can rest in healthy muscle; however, the bacteria may awaken if the muscle becomes damaged from an IM injection particularly when Banamine is administered this way. This may cause clostridial myositis - which is a serious and sometimes fatal disease. Post injection signs of a problem would be swelling and a painful injection site with gas underneath the skin. The bacterial toxins may migrate into the bloodstream causing depression, colic, fever and a lose of appetite. Treatment by a licensed DVM is necessary if you make this mistake. Supportive care, antibiotics, and possibly a surgical excision of the infected injected site may be necessary.

This episode of Yellowstone was a good reminder - what is entertaining may not always be real and correct. Check with your equine veterinarian if you are unsure how to administer Banamine.

They have to be confident to win. Don’t take that away. There’s a fine line between rude and confident and the good ones dance directly on that line but that’s what makes them winners. If you take that push and ego away from them, they won’t run as hard.

Now trust your training and make your run. Trust your horse to put their feet in the right spot. Ride your horse the same way you have all year in your exhibitions or time onlys.
