I want to alert anyone looking for a Maine c**n kitten of a recent scam one of my customers experienced. The scammer was very personable and convincing, even said she would deliver the kitten. Buyer was asked for a deposit by gift card, told it didn't work asked for another gift card or for payment by Zelle. Said she would deliver the kitten to Burger King. Buyer did not want the breeder to come to her house. Buyer waited for a few hours. Breeder never showed. When buyer called breeder claimed she had an auto accident and wanted more money. Buyer refused. Breeder information disappeared over night. Chances are Breeder changed her info and is back at it. Do not give payment in a way that you can not get back and check out the Breeder before hand. Get their address and make sure it is real and not a vacant house. The scams are the same but names and cattery information and websites change overnight. One of my Breeder friends suggested doing a "who is " search on their website url to see how long they have had the site open. If it is recent chances are they might be scammers. One of a scammers recent tricks is to post their info on a legitimate breeders page directing an unsuspecting person to click on it. I have done my best to keep them off my page by blocking them or changing my settings so they can't respond to my posts and do the same to my followers. These are not bad breeders but professional scammers who do this for a living and are very good at it. I doubt that any are actual breeders of anything.. They don't care if they hurt you only if they can get as much of your money as they can and get away fast. The info used for this scam was Magdalene Wagnor Maine C**n Cat and kitten Rescue
Waynesboro PA. Below is the kitten used in the scam. It may have been stolen from a legitimate site and may be being used in other scams. If you see this kitten offered beware.
