Blk Otter (2024) -12th Place, 2024 ARBA Conv. Excellent body, very short.

I will not take a bunch of pictures, so please do not ask. These ladies can be evaluated at our farm by appointment, at Rabbit & Roses in Huntsville, AL (2/14-2/15/25), the Dalton Triple Show (3/1-3/2/25), Bedford, IN (3/7-3/8) or Shelbyville, KY (3/22/25).

Had a fun local show in Corydon, IN this weekend! My Black Sr B OHF Last Of My Kind (“Shaboozey”) was 2x Open BOB this weekend, my Otter Sr Doe Garner’s Nora (“Nora”) was 1x Open BOB, 3x BOSB, and Grace’s Sr Otter B OHF Red Solo Cup (“Toby”) was 1x Open BOSB, 4x BOB, 2x RIS this weekend. I was proud them - each dwarf got a little love this weekend!

Super proud of my buddy Orval McLaughlin for sweeping show C taking both BOB and BOSB with his REW Buck and Otter Doe.

We had a great weekend in Shelbyville, KY! OHF Jimmy Dean pulled off a triple BIS this weekend, winning BOB/BIS in The Bluegrass Netherland Dwarf Club Sunflower Spectacular specialty, Open B and Open C! Garner’s Nora was BOSB in the BGNDC Specialty as well, and had several opposite group wins. Both Coin’s Marco (Otter Sr B ) and OHF Next Episode (Black Sr B ) had group wins as well. Oak Hill Farm would also like to congratulate Cathy Young-Hilbert and OHF WhereTheWildThingsAre on their BIS/BOB in the BGNDC Vertans Day Salute Specialty!

It was a great honor to win 2024 Best of Breed Open Netherland Dwarf at the 101st ARBA Convention with my homebred Otter Junior Buck, OHF Holy Smokes (“Zippo”). He is a handsome little dude, and showed like a champ. I couldn’t be prouder of him.

Honestly, I still can’t believe it. So many stars aligned that day! I am a living testament to all the small breeders like me - we can win, too! You don’t have to have 300 dwarfs; it just takes one.

There are so many folks to thank; I’ve acknowledged the breeders who took a chance on me by selling me solid dwarfs in my previous post. But Michael Garner - you have been such an incredible mentor. It’s hard to find the words to explain what a dear friend you have been to me - you are the best of the best! To my husband, Matt - your incredible care of our dwarfs is the reason they are so successful. The dwarfs and I are so lucky to have you! To my The Bluegrass Netherland Dwarf Club friends - what an incredible ride this was, one I’m so glad we got to share together! Thank you to all of my other friends, old and new, who have taken the time to get to know “some girl from Indiana.”

For us, it was truly The Greatest Show on Earth!

A special day for our farm! Congrats Erin Thacker Uhl , who finally broke thru the ARBA Convention Netherland Dwarf competition with a win in the Open Best in Breed! OHF Holy Smokes, aka Zippo, is our first ever national show best in breed winner. He is a Palmyra, Indiana raised Junior Otter Buck.

Erin was incredibly emotional, a huge thank you to our club, The Bluegrass Netherland Dwarf Club , many great fellow breeders, including Michael Garner , Gootee Family Farm , Patrick Hilbert , Jennifer Andrews, and so many more of our friends and supporters to mention. It is incredibly rewarding to see a home grown rabbit of ours, using specially selected stock, do so well here in our own backyard at the Kentucky Fairgrounds!

When you only take one dwarf to the show, it had better be a good one! Due to the nasty weather yesterday, I decided not to join the family at the IU Maryland game and instead ran down to Frankfort, KY with ONE day of show entry. Although he is leaning a bit forward in our win pic, I was fortunate to win BOB in show B with Sr Otter B OHF WhereTheWildThingsAre! “Monster” is looking great and peaking at just the right time. Convention should be fun!
