"What is declawing?" Read the information below provided by The Tuxedo Party of Canada Cat Welfare Society and let us know if you were already aware how cruel, barbaric, painful and debilitating declawing actually is... if you did not know, please share your reaction and thoughts now that you do.

TRIGGER WARNING: it's NOT simply removing a cat's nails!

If you are familiar with declawing, please also share your thoughts.

For anyone who trusted a vet and declawed your cat, I did the same. First time cat mom, knew absolutely nothing about cats, so who best to inform me how to care for my new kitten than a veterinarian, right???!!! WRONG!

Had I been advised of the truth by the vet, I'd never have given them permission to commit such an egregious act of animal cruelty to the Furry Love of My Life... let alone PAID THEM TO CUT THROUGH MUSCLES, NERVES, TENDONS, BONES, ETC., SEVERING HIS TOES FROM HIS PAWS!!!

Thinking back, my Precious Angel wasn't even given a chance; he was just a baby : ( I'll never forgive myself for not doing my own research!

This is why I always request everything be done in the examination room with me holding our delightfully sweet cats for adoption PURRsonal Space ROCKS, Inc., for whatever is necessary.

Follow The Paw Project and City the Kitty to learn the truth about declawing, be kept abreast of progress and new legislation and how you may help advocate to !

Is your veterinarian still performing declaw surgery on cats in spite of the mounting evidence that proves how cruel it is? Here's a paper from Faculté de médecine vétérinaire, Université de Montréal, Saint-Hyacinthe, QC, Canada - Declawing in Cat is associated with neuroplastic sensitization and long-term painful afflictions.
The authors state, "Our findings highlight the impact of chronic post-declaw pain and support the need to develop therapeutic strategies to alleviate chronic pain in [declawed] cats and highlights the pertinence of establishing a global ban of this elective procedure."
Once again, A GLOBAL BAN OF THIS ELECTIVE PROCEDURE!

NO MATTER WHAT... ALWAYS!!! It's unfortunate many choose to look the other way; they say nothing, do nothing, more concerned about protecting humans! Even worse, some believing what they, themselves, are doing is okay. Maddening, sickening and heartbreaking.

Please never let ANYTHING OR ANYONE stand in your way of speaking up and helping an animal in need!

PSA!!! First, I have no involvement with this colony, or any 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐫 cares for. I do have a cute photo of us at Catsbury Park 😺 Will find it and post in the comments.

But I'd like to thank him for the tremendous amount of work he does saving many, many cats through TNR, providing education and much more to help humans helping cats.

I think it's wonderful for anyone trying to help homeless cats, especially those living outdoors, but with community cats in a colony, you must do so VERY SAFELY, DISCREETLY, ABSENT OF ANY TRASH LEFT BEHIND and FIRST SPEAKING TO THEIR CAREGIVER.

My post is to share enlightenment and raise needed awareness.

To those who do what's seen in the video, thank you for being so caring! I know it comes from your heart, and placing an open can down that may cause serious harm to a cat's tongue and mouth is done unknowingly. Same with bags posing a high risk of suffocation, that some cats may have restricted diets and/or require medication in their food.

Leading cats away from their safe spot out in the open and having food around on the ground brings about a whole other host of problems as alluded to. Expanding the area where food is present often attracts more animals, can bring disease, even predator animals.

Things must be kept tight, property meticulous, with the least amount of attention as possible brought to everything, not only for cleanliness and safety for the cats, but out of respect for the owner graciously allowing them to reside there and humans coming on their property as well.

Please also under how unexpected feedings may interfere with trapping efforts. It can be quite cumbersome arranging for available volunteers to trap, transport, in coordination with scheduled spay/neuter surgeries, a place for recovery and transport to return sweeties.

And on a day-to-day basis, even if not trapping, caregivers need to see each cat, know they're okay, check on their health and well-being. Feeding is utilized to make that possible for many.

It's not easy to find safe shelter for outdoor cats... so please do not allow your kindness and generosity to jeopardize the cats from losing their home while attempting to help.

If you're looking to provide some love and a blessing to homeless cats, I suggest leaving your name and contact info for their caretakers to reach you. I'm pretty sure your help is needed with the global cat crisis ongoing, shortage of volunteers and need for donations!

For caregivers who find something like this, I recommend the same... leave your info asking kind angels to reach out. It's frustrating, but use the opportunity to educate and turn a potential ongoing problem into positive!

Maybe the individual will be interested in volunteering once they learn of your need for help and the difference their donation makes!
If they're uninterested or unable, perhaps you taking the initiative shall encourage them to give a blessing in a way it benefits the cats and not put them at any further risk.

Very, very sad reality for homeless animals in shelters and what appears to be a very, very positive resource to help pets losing their homes... http://www.TheCanineCorner.org/Rehome-Information

Did you know a voluminous amount of adoptable pets are killed every day due to a lack of space?

Sharing the informative post about Supported Self Rehoming, a proactive approach that provides guidance and assistance to help families rehome their pets rather than surrender them to shelters.

There are many benefits to having the family who knows their animal best involved in the adoption and the decrease in volume of owner surrenders allows for an increase of space to help more strays find homes, lost animals be reunited and reduces the number of healthy, adoptable animals killed!

Such an informative post Terry Izzy Peifer

🚨 NEW JERSEY SHELTERS ARE AT A BREAKING POINT 🚨

Across our state, animal shelters and rescues are overflowing. The companion animal overpopulation crisis in NJ has put a strain on these organizations.

💔 The heartbreaking truth: Adoptable pets are now being euthanized for space because shelters simply don’t have the resources, staff, or capacity to humanely care for them all.

But there is something we can ALL do to help—Supported Self-Rehoming.

Instead of surrendering your pet to a crowded shelter, you can find them a loving new home yourself, with guidance and resources from shelters, rescues, and community volunteers.

🐾 Why it matters:
👉Keeps pets out of stressful kennels.
👉Frees up space for animals in urgent need.
👉Gives you control over your pet’s next home.

✅ This information will help you:
⭐List your pet on trusted rehoming platforms.
⭐Create a great bio and photos.

Give the Gift of Life... for just 59 cents! Are you able to feed a homeless cat a can of food at PURRsonal Space?

Closing temporarily due to COVID-19 has severely impacted our resources to save homeless cats, provide food, enrichment, veterinary care and a safe home free of cages. Shelters, families, cats in crisis need us most now. It's very difficult to ask, but we really need support during this time.

Kindly visit our Amazon Wish List If you're able to contribute an item, we'd be so grateful; NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL! It can be shipped directly to us. And some of the items are available at the Dollar Store. Other than their food and litter, the brand does not matter.

We do accept food/litter/treats our lovies cannot use and PAW the love forward to others in need. All items must be within the expiration dates and unopened.

Thanks for helping make a difference for innocent animals depending upon us.
