Many of you know my son, Zack Platt, passed away this year. He was 27.
Zack walked miles every day as a part of his mental health regime. He’d start before the sun rose and enjoyed interacting with people throughout the day. He was well known in our neighborhood for always being up for a chat. He loved people and genuinely wanted everyone to be happy. He tried his best to make people smile.
Mental health issues were important to Zack. His plans were to support mental health awareness through his art. He saw art in everything.
This fundraiser will go toward a memorial bench located at Bol Park in Palo Alto, CA in Zack’s honor. It was one of his favorite places to play and celebrate birthdays when he was little. As Zack grew older Bol Park became a regular route for his walks.
We hope this bench will be a place for loved ones to remember Zack and serve as a space for our community to sit and connect with each other. Many of our lovely friends and neighbors have asked to contribute so we are inviting you to participate in gathering funds for Zack’s bench. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated.
Zack loved his community. Thank you to all who showed him love and kindness while he was with us. You truly made a difference in his life. Any donations beyond our bench memorial goal will be donated to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) To learn more about NAMI please go to nami.org
