FOUNDED: 2010

MISSION:
PAWS is a 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit, dedicated to saving and improving the lives of the shelter animals at the Pampa animal shelter. We make adoptions, reclaims and transfers of animals to no-kill rescues happen, and provide lifesaving vaccines and medical care for at risk animals in the shelter and community. PAWS encourages, educates and runs a low income spay/neuter program to reduce the number of unwanted pets.

Gypsy is still out there somewhere. She has one blue eye and one yellow eye with furry pointed tipped ears. She’s dearly missed!! Please please let me know if you see her. Missing from around the 7900 block of Knoxville Dr. in City View. 🤍

Finn adopted this past Sunday snuggled with his new sister❤️. During the tough times , THIS is what keeps us going! Sometimes it just feels like a drop in an enormous bucket , but boy, that drop is worth it!!

Well...no good deed goes unpunished. After spending weeks running around the neighborhood where they lived, they are sick and headed to the vet. We've been doing free distemper/parvo shots for over 2 years, and some still won't take advantage. And its the dogs that suffer. Please donate to SCAR through the link below or if you need venmo/cashapp option, message page, and I'll forward it to the rescue. I don't know who the owner is, but you are a problem maker in more ways than one. 😠 😡

November PAWS Newsletter

PAWS has a full season ahead and we are grateful for every moment of support our community continues to show. As we move towards the holidays, we hope these events and updates help everyone stay connected to the animals who need us most.

Panhandle Gives runs from November 24th through December 2nd. This is one of the biggest fundraising opportunities of the year for PAWS and many other local nonprofits, and helps strengthen the work we do every single day. The web address for Panhandle Gives has been shared on social media so everyone can find it easily. The donation link for PAWS is: https://www.thepanhandlegives.org/organizations/paws-2025

and will be open as of today, November 24th. Every donation, no matter the size, truly helps us change the lives of animals in Pampa.

We will also have volunteers helping at the Celebration of Lights on December 2nd. It is always meaningful to show up for the community that shows up for us, and we are glad to participate in a way that supports a tradition so many families look forward to.

Pet Pictures with Santa will take place on December 7th, 2025 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Pampa Animal Shelter. This has become a favorite tradition and we hope to see families old and new come through for a little joy and a great photo. Bring your camera for some great photos!

For October, we had seventeen animals adopted. We transported forty three dogs and four cats. These numbers represent a lot of hard work and a lot of hope, but the truth is that the shelter is still very full. We are doing everything we can, from transports to spaying and neutering as many animals as possible, yet we continue to see more animals than we can place. Every adoption feels like a small victory and every transport is a chance for a new life. Still, the need remains great.

The shelter has several ongoing needs and donations of supplies make a tremendous difference in the daily care of our animals. We are in need of canned cat food, canned dog food with gravy, Purina Large Breed canned food, Fancy Feast kitten pate, peanut butter, Benebone dog chews in large and medium sizes and durable large dog toys. These items help keep the animals healthy, calm, and comfortable while they wait for their forever homes.

As always, we appreciate every person who donates, volunteers, and shares our posts. Even the small things help create a real change for the animals who wait so patiently for a home of their own.
