**UPDATE ON SEARCH FOR BUCKSHOT**

Sheriff Tommy Ford is HAPPY to tell everyone that Buckshot has been found! The chocolate lab just now ran out of the woods and returned to the Jail and has been on the receiving end of many hugs and treats from his handler and the happy staff at the Bay County Jail. THANK YOU to everyone who took the time out of their day to look for Buckshot, to the hundreds that shared the post, and for the expressions of care and concern. We are so grateful for the loving people of Bay County and for having our sweet boy back!

Sheriff Tommy Ford is asking for the public"s help to find a Bay County Jail K9 that fled from the scene of the fire at the old training building on the Bay County Jail
campus. His name is Buckshot.
He is a chocolate lab with a white star on his chest. He is very friendly but needs to a little help coming home! He was last seen headed to the Cherokee Heights area near 231. If you see Buckshot please call the BCSO at 850 747 4700. Buckshot is friendly and is wearing a collar with identifying information. please share this post and help us find Buckshot!

We are at Bay County Animal Services & Adoption Center for the Annual Founders Day adoption event! All animal adoptions are $25 to adopt your next furry best friend!! We have low cost Spay & Neuter vouchers available for a donation of laundry soap or bleach. We will be here until 3 PM. Come see us!!

Neonatal kitten care has seen significant advancements over the last decade. At the same time, social media had created thousands of influencers sharing information on the best ways to save these little ones. This information is often conflicting. In 2023, several major shelter medicine programs and animal advocacy groups updated their guidelines for caring for neonatal kittens which added even more confusion and debate about the best ways to care underage kittens.

Join Dr. Julie Levy and Marnie Russ for a review of these changes and clarification about feeding schedules, weaning age, temperature regulation, euthanasia rates, medical interventions, combining litters, socialization, and adoption. Come away knowing how you and your shelter can provide neonatal kittens with the best possible care.

So thankful for BISSELL Pet Foundation and their Fix the Future Program for all the help with spay/neuter this year! OSB has had several extra veterinarians this year helping us reduce the overpopulation through high volume spay & neuter. What an awesome program Cathy Bissell!

BISSELL Pet Foundation is working hard to help with the unwanted population of puppies, kittens and starving pets that are suffering on the streets. Spay and neuter is the only solution.

I count my blessing everyday and I feel fortunate to put my money where my mouth is and help save so many lives. I also thank my incredible team that is dedicated to the mission. Spay and Neuter is the only way we are going to stop the suffering of so many pets.

In a short 7 months BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Fix the Future, Spay and Neuter program has fixed 21, 387 pets in 16 states with 89 of our over 205 relief veterinarians. (11,925 cats and 9,462 dogs). We are growing daily. The veterinarians are being placed in areas that need the most help.

I am grateful that I have been blessed with a beautiful life and that I can give back to help, but it isn’t possible to do this alone. The need for Spay and Neuter is HUGE!!

Please help by donating any amount to Pet Foundation. A donation of $5, $10, $35 or more will help us continue to save lives. We have a formula for keeping costs down (average s/n is $35.) Operation Spay Bay will be at Bay County Animal Services & Adoption Center located at 6401 Bayline Dr for their Founders Day adoption event!! We will have Petco vouchers available that will give you $40 off dog spay/neuter and $30 off cat spay/neuter!! To obtain a voucher, please bring a bottle of laundry detergent, a bottle of bleach, or a fleece blanket. One item for each pet you wish to get a voucher for. Event time is from 10am-3pm!! We were so excited to make our 1,000th spay/neuter in 2014. 10 years later we are knocking on the door of 100,000 😳

Dr Bays & Cosmo the feral kitty (still coming out of anesthesia). What is so special about Cosmo you ask? Cosmo is our # 1,000 surgery. Yup you heard me right, 1,000 cats/dogs are no longer breeding because of our clinic. Cosmo was trapped via the Animal Rescue Center (ARC) TNR (trap-neuter-return) program for feral/community cats. A big HOORAY for Dr. Bays & our staff. Excellent job!

✨️As some may know, we have been working daily with BCAS to help with the high volume of kittens they get in. Kitten season has hit hard! We have helped around 100 kitten already. This is anywhere from nursing mommas with kittens to kittens that came in with no mommas that's are being bottle fed or sick kittens.

🍼 We NEED more rescues to step up and help us save more lives! If your rescue is willing to help, please reach out, and we can give you all the details!

It is definitely raining kittens. Take a look at that face. Castaway Cats and Dogs & OSB have been pulling moms/kittens & orphan kittens from Animal Servces. Everyone out there who has been concerned about the amount of animals being euthanized up there we need your help. Can you foster? Can you donate supplies? Can you donate funds? So we REALLY kinda did a thing today🐈‍⬛😉‼️ 81 cats & 5 dogs left on a flight this morning headed to 6 different locations. Talk about your golden ticket to ride! What an awesome experience and we have so many people to thank. Thank you BISSELL Pet Foundation with support from PetSmart Charities for making this possible. Thank you Cathy Bissell for your dedication to the cats & dogs less fortunate. Thank you Castaway Cats and Dogs for all your lifesaving efforts. Thank you to all the receiving locations for helping us make a difference. Thank you to all our employees & volunteers who worked their butts off putting this together, believe me it was no easy feat! WOW, JUST WOW❤️‼️🐈‍⬛❤️‼️🐕. It was an amazing moment to watch that plane takeoff this morning with our animals from the Florida Panhandle! I think we all got a little teary eyed 🥹, I know I did❤️. This is how you save lives, by working together‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
