Our Story
The Humane Society of Bay County is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization formed in 1980 for the purpose of sheltering and locating homes for homeless animals through adoptions. We became a no-kill shelter in 2006, providing the only no-kill shelter option for homeless animals in Bay County, Florida
The HSBC takes in animals from local animal control facilities to reduce the number of animals being euthanized, as well as accepts animals from pet owners in the community who are no longer able to keep their pets.
We believe that through humane education and responsible pet ownership, we will one day end the needless destruction of companion animals in our community, and we envision a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving home.
