🚩🚩LESSON UPDATE🚩🚩
.
We don’t like to cancel lessons, and are totally not a fan of this time of year because the weather is so unpredictable!
.
Due to the forecasted weather and temperatures dropping below 20°F,
ALL riding lessons are CANCELLED for Sunday Jan 19th
Monday Jan 20th
Tuesday Jan 21st.
.
Mike spoke to student lesson students, that they could ride Monday but Mondays temps are too low.
.
Lessons will resume Sunday Jan 26th providing temps and weather behave!
.
We've made this decision for the safety and wellbeing of both our horses and students.
.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
❄️
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Video just for fun. 🙏
Morning chores were done early! Finally getting around to posting an update!
.
Roads are yuk. Snow is making it better, underneath the snow is straight ice!
.
.
Drop a ❄️if you’re also dealing with this storm, or a ☀️ if you’re watching from
somewhere warm (we’re not jealous at all!)
.
Fun fact: The horses rated my ice-skating performance while doing chores a solid 2/10.
Reality check: This is farm life in Kansas - no snow days, just extra layers and stronger coffee!

We are ready for the storm! 🐴
.
All the horses have been well-prepared - their hay is stocked, water tanks are filled, heaters are working properly, and they've been grained this morning (with another feeding planned for this afternoon). Everyone is cozy with their blankets on and ready to weather the storm. ⛄️ 🥶
.
It was quite a sight this morning - they were feeling frisky despite the cold, running around, jumping, bucking, and rearing up in playful spirits. They sure know how to warm themselves up! 🏃♀️
.
A special thank you to our boarders who were out at the barn and lent us a helping hand. Your support means so much to us, and we truly appreciate it. 💕
.
We will post updates here through the weekend. 🙏
(Go to comment to read words more clearly) When the weather drops to freezing or below, it’s critical to add tank heaters to the stock tanks for your horses and cows. These heaters ensure the water remains unfrozen, providing essential hydration to your livestock and making life easier for you as their caretaker...Benefits for the Animals 1. Hydration: Livestock require consistent access to water for their health and well-being, even in freezing conditions. If water freezes, they may drink less, which can lead to dehydration and serious health issues such as colic in horses or decreased milk production in cows. 2. Comfort: Cold weather increases the animals’ energy demands. Proper hydration aids digestion and helps them maintain their body temperature, especially when they are consuming more feed to stay warm..Benefits for You 1. Convenience: Breaking ice on frozen tanks multiple times a day is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Tank heaters eliminate this chore, saving you time and effort. 2. Peace of Mind: Knowing your animals have access to fresh water at all times reduces stress and the risk of unexpected health issues caused by dehydration..Daily Checks: Even with a tank heater, you should check your stock tanks daily. This ensures: • The heater is functioning properly. • The water temperature is adequate but not excessively warm. • The tank remains clean and free of debris, algae, or contamination.Maintenance ...Tips 1. Hose Off and Drain Regularly: Dirt, hay, and algae can accumulate in the tank, contaminating the water and overworking the heater. Regularly hosing off the tank and draining it helps maintain clean, safe water for your animals. 2. Inspect the Heater: Check the heater cord and elements for wear and tear. Exposed wires or a damaged heater can pose an electrocution risk for animals and humans. 3. Prevent Overheating: Some heaters come with thermostats to maintain optimal temperatures. If your heater lacks this
Now I’m three I get to boss mommy and daddy around! Mommy was cleaning tanks so I thought I would go for a paddle with mommy.
Dedication and effort pays off!
Shout out to one of our students. Running a 15.8. Keep it up Gabby!

The horses spent the night on pasture from a late late turn out and early round up back to the dry lots with hay and water. Here’s how they feel!
✨
Ever heard a horse snore!
🚨Deserves a shout out!🚨
GIRL power was alive at the ranch tonight!
🐴
I witnessed all the girls working as a team to help me run lessons smoothly. Oh and Redford!
🐴
To clarify, Mike is not a girl 🤣! I Keri, ran lessons tonight! Now that’s cleared up I wanted to mention and share this!
🐴
I was thrilled to witness one of the girls excelling in two different areas: running her horse and public speaking. She showcased her athletic abilities by displaying impressive control on her horse that, well can be difficult. during a run, and later on, she demonstrated great communication to the other students in a new reversed barrel pattern.
Well done Izzy!
🐴
Leah helped the less confident riders on the ground!
🐴
Gabby she was lifting saddles because I’m not able to at the moment.
🐴
Redford helped in all areas.
🐴
It sure does take a village to make things run smoothly when things go in another direction. We appreciate each of you.
