Ready or not! We are officially opening tomorrow, just a reminder it is a soft re-opening. We will only have about half the fish we can carry since this is the most fish this system has had in it. All the fish seem to be doing great so I’m confident in proceeding with selling fish tomorrow. We also will have a small variety of plants and plenty of driftwood. We do not have any dry goods out and ready just yet. Our aquascaping table isn’t operational just yet but we hope Wednesday it will be up and ready to go along with our counter, currently we are running our register off a makeshift desk.

Not sure what and when everything will be up and going, but we are still installing and expanding. Our Betta wall will be the next thing, we have the tanks ready for water, once it gets cycled, we will be able to carry 36 Bettas, which will not be living in bowls. Next will be our Glo Fish and Shrimp system, which has to be built, plumbed, and cycled. Then we plan to install our dry good shelving, we have been in contact with some new options on dry good to try and provide a better selection for all your fish needs. Lastly is our final project that we haven’t fully committed to, but also have built a room for, it will be announced when we officially have everything planned and decided.

Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to make sure everyone is up to speed and is aware of what is and isn’t available before making a trip to see us. Nothing is 100% completed yet, but we are operational! Thanks again for allllll the love and support and mostly your patience! We are beyond excited to finally find a place where we can better serve our customers! I can't wait to finally get to start seeing everyone again!

Unfortunately, we have decided to push our soft opening back until Friday. We have all our fish in quarantine and since we are starting completely over, we have decided to add half to the system now and the other half later. We had planned on having the fish before now, but it didn’t quite go according to plan. So, I would rather push back our opening day than sell fish that haven’t acclimated properly to our new system. I’m extremely disappointed and hate to even make this post, but I want healthy fish and happy customers.

For those that have been asking about feeder mice, message me beforehand to make an appointment and we can at least sell those since I will be here anyways working. All sales of feeder mice before Friday will have to be cash sales.

This Wednesday is going to be a soft reopening, we will mainly just have fish, some plants, and other aquascaping materials. We will also have feeder fish and feeder mice. We will only have one side of the shop functionable. We have a few other projects in the works, but unfortunately, they will not be ready this week. We are planning to have an official grand re-opening on Saturday July 26th. Paoli Chamber Of Commerce & Possibilities in Paoli will be here to help us present our official new location. We should have our dry goods section installed and stocked, our display tanks scaped and going, the other half of our fish system installed, and our “non fish room” up and going. I appreciate the patience and understanding, we hated making all of you wait this long for fish, but we want to make things better all around. We can’t wait to start seeing you all again.

Still gotta add doors to hide the plumbing and add lighting, but here is a sneak peak at what's finished. This is what's been taking me so long. Fun fact I'm able to do more than just bag up some fish 😂

I realize it isn’t much of a heads up, but we will be reopening Wednesday, July 9th. We pushed things back in an attempt to have everything finished, we won’t quite make it, but we are going ahead and opening our doors to the new shop. Throughout the next 4 to 6 weeks, we will be finishing things off and adding new things to the shop. The first few weeks we will only have fish, plants, and aquascaping materials. Our next phase will be adding a wider selection of dry goods since we will have extra space and plenty of shelving. Hope everyone had a good safe 4th of July! Stay tuned for additional updates and Tuesday as we will be posting our fish order.

Something that people do not take in consideration is what happens behind the scenes and the amount of time, work, money, and effort it takes. All this mess to create tank systems from building the stands to figuring out the plumbing. The mistakes and undoing work just to change it and put it back together goes beyond playing in water all day. There is way more to this than catching fish and putting them in a bag, which I do quite gracefully if I say so myself 😂. I just wanted to share what a fish store looks like before it's actually a fish store. Now the cleaning and adding the finishing touches begins! We will have a set opening date in the next few days. Thanks again for all your patience and we can't wait to see you all very soon!

Unfortunately, we have some bad news. We had planned to reopen this coming Saturday June 28th, but with the water boil order here in Paoli along with other unforeseen issues, we will not be able to have things up and ready. We want to have things as completed as possible before reopening. We should have things in order within the next week or so, when we do, we will announce an official opening date. Thanks for all your patience, we can’t wait to see you all soon!

I just seen I've got some message, those will be checked and responded to tomorrow. We've been busy raiding old Big Lots for commercial shelving and roughing in our new tank stands. Sorry I haven't posted any updates until now lol the new shop is still a complete mess 😅

As we hand in our keys we locked the door behind us for the final time at this location and closed this chapter. I'm aware we have moved several times, believe me when I say this, I did not want to move yet again. It takes a ton of time and energy tearing systems down and rebuilding entirely new systems to fit the space in which they'll be in, however, if that's what we must do to grow, improve, and better serve our customers, then I'll do just that.

It's been a rough journey finding a decent place around here in Paoli, to the point we had considered moving completely out of Paoli. We are extremely confident and excited about our new location on the square. We want something that we can be proud of and our last location was an emergency decision to relocate there after our electrical fires and mishaps at our first storefront on the square.

With that being said I do realize it isn't a good look on a business to constantly move locations, but we had originally signed a lease extension on hospital road. Then we had a good increase in current and new customer traffic, that within a few short months we out grew that space. I didn't have room to expand there and had to pick and choose what I bought rather than providing a larger variety of what my customers needed.

Sorry for the long post, but as I've always tried to be i want to be completely transparent and share Amy and all information about our journey, as we are all in this together! So I want to thank everyone for the continued love and support, it has meant the world to us! These next 4 weeks or so will fly by and we'll get to enjoy seeing our customers again! Stay tuned for more updates as I will post frequently so everyone is up to date!

We have about 50 fish left, so I will be closing at 4pm today no matter what. I want to thank everyone again for your continued love and support, without each and every one of you we would not be where we are today. I’ll miss seeing everyone over the next 5 weeks, but once we get moved into our new location, it’ll all be worth it. I will continue to respond to our Facebook messages so if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We hate moving yet again, but we have outgrown our current location. The new shop will allow us to carry more fish and items to better help with all your aquarium needs. As much as I hate all the upcoming work, we’re excited to see where this new chapter takes us! We hope you all stick around for this next phase of Purple Moon Aquatics!
