It is the end of an era at Walnut Creek. This weekend we had to say goodbye to our beloved clinic cat Sammy. 💔 He faced more than his fair share of medical issues in his life, but he never let it stop him from being a sweet and loving boy. He had his own special brand of shenanigans, and his loss will be felt for a very long time in the clinic.

We wanted to thank all of our clients and friends who showed him love over the years. We know you will miss him too. Sammy will always hold a very special place in our hearts. 🧡

🎉New Year’s Eve Pet Safety Tips The festivities may be exciting for us, but fireworks and loud noises can be stressful for our pets. Here are a few tips to keep your furry friends calm and safe as we ring in the new year:

🐾Create a Cozy Space – set up a quiet area where your pet can retreat if they feel anxious.
🐾Play Calming Music – soft music can help mask loud noises from outside.
🐾Keep Them Indoors – bring pets inside early to avoid any risk of them running off in a panic.
🐾Provide Comfort Items – try blankets, toys, or even an anxiety wrap to help soothe them.

Walnut Creek is recruiting dogs aged 10 years and older to participate in a study for a treatment intended to extend the lifespan in older dogs. 🐩 Does your dog meet these eligibility requirements? – Aged 10 years or older – Documented proof of age – Weighs at least 14 pounds – Able to participate for the full four-year duration of this study This study is currently being conducted at 2 of our 6 network locations, Walnut Creek Veterinary Clinic and The Ridge Veterinary Clinic. The study and associated visit expenses and lab work are provided at no cost to you. If you’re interested or know someone who might be, call us at 402-505-5445

Happy CCS Week (Cat Care Specialist) to the one and only Sammy! While he's not the best at answering phones, he's a pro at putting smiles on everyone's faces. After losing a fight to a coyote in 2014, Sammy joined Walnut Creek following extensive reconstructive surgery, and has been stealing hearts and causing mischief ever since. He'll do anything for a treat, and has been known to play with puppies!
