Meet Tonka, the Ultimate Snuggle Buddy! This dashing 4-year-old cream tabby is ready to charm his way into your heart. Tonka has that classic orange cat temperament—sweet, lovable, and oh-so-snuggly. 🧡 He’s a true sucker for affection, and nothing makes him happier than cozy cuddle sessions and all the pets he can get.

Tonka would thrive in a home with feline friends, as he’s wonderful with other cats! 🐾 However, he’s hoping for a dog-free household—dogs are a bit too scary for this sensitive soul.

Only one left!!

Alex is a female mixed breed puppy rescued with her 4 litermates and mother at 7 weeks of age. These pups are a resilient group after surviving bitter cold conditions thanks to their mother's diligent care. Since arrival they've been staying toasty warm, getting plenty of nurishment and growing like crazy.

✨ A HUGE THANK YOU to the incredible Carrol and our friends at Foresters Financial! Thanks to Carrol’s hard work and dedication, she secured a $1,500 grant to support Town and Country Animal Rescue—and she went all out! 🐾 She bought everything on our wish list (yes, everything!) and even got multiples of many items! 😍

From cat toys, food, litter, and scratchers to dog toys, critter bedding, food, cleaning supplies, and more—Carrol’s generosity filled our table AND several boxes! 🐶🐱🐭

Today, Carrol brought everything over, and we happily got it all put away—ready to be used by our animals at the shelter and in foster.

Carrol, your kindness and compassion mean the world to us and our furry friends. Thank you for making such a huge difference in their lives! 🐾💕

Way-Way is a senior guinea pig looking for a special home to provide love and comfort and to monitor his health. He is up there in age (over 6 years!) but is active and adorable. He is a little shy about being handled but very friendly and greets people when they come into the room. Way-Way is a goofball and pretty talkative! 🐾Meet Persephone and Styx! This beautiful, bonded pair of 5-year-old cats has quite the story to tell. Once rescued from a high-kill shelter, these two were adopted out together as kittens, only to find their way back to us when their owner could no longer care for them.

After some time with us, they’ve slowly begun to open up, finding comfort with a select group of people here. While they may never be lap cats, Persephone and Styx have shown they’re happiest observing life’s moments from a safe distance. That said, who knows what the future holds for this special duo?

We believe that with time, patience, and a quiet, loving home, these two can truly thrive. If you’re the kind of person who understands the beauty of building trust at their pace, Persephone and Styx might just be the perfect pair for you. 💕

Benjamin is a 5 year old 20 lb chihuahua pug mix who was rescued with his two fur siblings after their owner relocated over seas. Benjamin has a typical chihuahua personality--he's a playful, sweet, cuddly guy who loves human attention. He is interested in short play sessions with the right toys and loves to burrow in blankets. He knows his name and is a very quick learner. Benjamin is kennel trained and potty trained. He is overweight and has started a diet and is hitting the trails getting some much needed exercise. Introductions to other dogs have gone very well. He will let bigger dogs know that he can defend himself but seems to really enjoy canine company.

Chica is a 4 year old dachshumd basset mix who was transported to us from a high kill shelter in Oklahoma. Based on our initial work with Chica, we suspect she has had a rough start in life. She is very fearly and slow to trust. We suspect she will be good with other dogs once she gains more confidence. She loves to lounge around in her comfy bed and relax. Chica is not used to wearing a collar or a leash, so we will work on this skill before we start daily walks. We expect that with time and patience, Chica will come out of her shell, become more comfortable with human attention and learn how to be a dog. We are certain she will become an amazing member of a patient family whose pace is slow and routine is consistent. Her ideal home will likely be adult only or with older kids who will read her cues and respect her personal space. 🐶❤

What were the dog team volunteers and staff up to in February? They were busy keeping our pups warm and enriched and it was a big job, but they handled it like champs! It took every single member of the dog team and community to make this happen! And while they were busy caring for these pups, they were also finding 8 of them warm loving homes! Today we met Cora at Town and Country Animal Rescue! Cora is a sweet 2 year old pit who recently gave birth to nine puppies. Unfortunately, Cora and her puppies were abandoned in Texas and only five of the nine puppies survived before being transferred here to T&C.

📣 Meet Seamus! 🐾 This 2-year-old black-and-white tuxedo cat is the king of cuddles and the prince of pets! Seamus lives for attention—he adores being picked up, and all snuggles are not only welcome, but encouraged.

When it comes to affection, his motto is: the more, the better! Honestly, we’re starting to think he believes humans were put on Earth just to love him. 🖤🤍

Welcome CHEWY!! This 9 month old terrier is as sweet as the come! He adores human contact and is very affectionate and playful. He enjoys other dogs and would do well in a family with kids. As is true for all puppies, he will benefit from consistent training and patience as he transitions to the home setting. Visitors are always welcome to come by Town & Country between NOON and 4pm any day except Wednesdays to meet any of our adoptable animals.
