Do we have any hamster lovers out there?
7 weeks old Campbell’s dwarf hamsters. They were born 11-21-24. Preferably a home with no cats. There are two males and two females that are orange and two tan females. They are completely weaned and trained to have human interaction. Dwarf hamsters can live in pairs or trios if they are littermates. The males would have to be homed separately, as they can be more aggressive.
I can put you in contact with the family if you message me.

We got an update from Joon’s foster: “She’s doing really well! She’s come out of her shell a whole lot. She’s still a little shy with new people but warms up quickly. She binkies and runs around the room too”
Joon’s foster mom is moving abroad in late March, so hopefully she’ll be adopted by then!

Buffy and Spike are having their turn at frolicking on the floor. They’ve been going nuts! It would be so nice if someone who had some space could foster them so that they can play all day!

My doll, Paul, has a bony mass attached to his shoulderblade and it is inoperable. The good news is it is not eating away the bone, BUT it will grow. Paul is 4-5 years old, a good weight, and all else looks good with the exception of a little arthritis. His condition is terminal, but he’s going to get the love he deserves, whether he has two weeks or two years. His diet will be supplemented with extra vitamin C to hopefully slow down the growth of the tumors and give him more time. Would you like to love him the rest of his days?

We got good and bad news.

The young lady we were keeping Rolo for has too much going on to take him now. She will try to adopt a bun in the summer when things settle. Poor Rolo needs a family! He gets neutered Monday. Only experienced applicants please, as lops have special needs.

We got a last minute request to take in a dwarf lionhead for an elderly owner with medical needs. We need somebunny to go so we can make room!

Can you make more good news for these guys?

We have a bun in peril up the road from Lakeview Hospital in MANDEVILLE.
An elderly bunmom is moving and the apartment company is coming to renovate. Bunny can’t go to hotel and construction starts tomorrow. I can’t get him tonight. He will stress and breathe in dust from renovation if he stays in the apartment. Can anyone board him a few days until he can get to us?
UPDATE: he can go to hotel tonight, but can’t stay more than a day or two. The lady is in fragile health so we need to get him soon.

SLIDELL BUNPARENTS!
A stray has been caught and will be taken to Slidell (rescuer was visiting family in Jeff Parish)
She doesn’t have enough food to keep the bun past tomorrow. Do we have some good neighbors who can provide a little food until we figure out where this Bunny needs to be?
Rescuer would like to return to owner, but we are not very sure who that might be.
Bunny is white lionhead mix found on Papworth & Veterans Blvd.

They make a perfect canvas stretcher for fleece blanket zoomies when you lack carpeting! Small binder clips work best.
The will also absorb accidents to boot😉

HELP NEEDED IN ILLINIOS

HELP NEEDED IN ILLINIOS

🚨 Urgent - Please Read 🚨

We were recently alerted to a hoarding situation involving 49 rabbits in Illinois. While our rescue is at full capacity due to space limitations and pre-planned intakes, we’ve still been called upon to assist.

We want to be very clear that we cannot intake these bunnies and never planned to get involved at all, but there are very few rescues on the Illinois side that intake bunnies. So we’re doing what we can to help.

Here’s what’s happening and how we’re helping:

- A family member was initially selling the rabbits for $5 each with a minimum requirement to purchase 2. We’ve successfully stopped them from being sold to anyone and everyone.

- Our team has visited the location numerous times to s*x the rabbits, provide carloads of supplies, and offer support.

- One of our amazing volunteers personally paid for primary vetting and CVIs for 5 of the rabbits before they were transferred to the APA in Brentwood.

- We’re also providing carriers and assisting with transporting 10 rabbits to a rescue in Wisconsin.

Unfortunately, a person related to the situation is now allowing individuals to take rabbits and falsely telling them that Dolly’s will cover all vetting, supplies, and ongoing care. This is NOT TRUE.

Here’s the reality:

- These rabbits are not in our program, as we do not have the space or funds to take them all in, especially as we finish up working 2 separate colony cases.

- If we were to intake all 49 rabbits, we’d need $75 per rabbit for CVI paperwork before crossing state lines to avoid a $10,000 fine per rabbit from the Department of Agriculture.

- We would also need a building donated and $20,825 to cover vetting, supplies, and other costs.

While we are doing everything we can to assist these rabbits, we need everyone to understand that these rabbits are not in our program. We cannot cover all vetting and supplies. If you have picked up a rabbit from the situation and have been told that Dolly’s is covering all costs, please send us a message.

We will continue to help as much as possible, but want to reiterate that we cannot bring the rabbits into our program at this time, so are helping in other ways to ensure everybun is safe. We’re going above and beyond to help, but refuse to be taken advantage of.

Thank you for your understanding!

To help us reimburse our volunteer the $376 for exams and CVIs, get carriers for 10 buns to travel up to Wisconsin, and continue helping with supplies, click here: http://dollysdreamhome.org/donate

Update: we went again last night to help even more. There are about 25 buns left still searching for licensed rescue placement.

Thanks to Melody Moore Petlev, we were able to pull this beautiful boy from the Northshore shelter.
Upon getting him home, I noticed he has a knot on his shoulder, and he is asymmetrical. I wonder if his shoulder had been broken or dislocated?
We will make an appointment and very likely get x-rays to see what’s going on and whether it is serious. 🙏

EDIT: we have found a foster for a couple of our adoptable buns and will be able to pull these two out of the shelter so they can get checked. If anyone is interested in potentially adopting them after spay neuter, consider fostering! Foster always get first choice! 😉

Hey all! There are 2 buns at the Northshore shelter that need placement. They are both single, and not fixed. The spot Rex is a female, and the white bun is a male. Can we get any fosters for them so they (or our adoptable buns) can get some bunny people lovins?
