Hello all!

With flea and tick season in full swing, we’d like to remind everyone that due to Nexgard and Nexgard Combo being prescription drugs per the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), we must have seen your pets for a physical examination within the last year in order for us to be able to legally sell you these amazing products. This is to make sure that our veterinarians here at VHC can determine whether or not your pet is healthy enough to ingest this medication and/or does not have any pre-existing medical conditions that could potentially worsen when combined with these products.

⭐️Meet A Member Of Our Staff!⭐️
Once a week, we’d like to feature a staff member here at VHC that shines and deserves the spotlight. For the first round of staff, we’d like to show off and introduce you all to our veterinary assistants/technicians.
At Veterinary Healthcare Clinic, our veterinary technicians are the backbone of our animal care team. They are the ones who help with procedures, take care of the furry patients, and provide love and comfort when necessary. That being said, it is our honor to give each of them their own shoutout!

For this week, we’d like to introduce you all to Jackie Rogers!
Jackie has been with us for the past 5 years now. Working her way up from being a kennel technician to a veterinary assistant, she has done an exceptional job. You can find her working here at our clinic during the summer months, and then simultaneously working here and on her Bachelor’s Degree during the school year. Jackie is currently working on her animal science degree at Black River Technical College and hopes to apply to veterinary school here in the next few years and we couldn’t be any more proud of her! Here at VHC, Jackie is a crucial part of our technician team. You can find her assisting in surgeries, helping care for our patients, making everyone in the clinic laugh, and of course quoting movies and tv shows constantly throughout the day. Her humor, work ethic, and kind heart is what puts her on top here at VHC. We couldn’t care for our patients the way that we do without her. Jackie makes such a huge difference in our patients' lives and ours as well. VHC cannot thank you enough, Jackie!❤️

A bit about Jackie:

Do you have any kids or pets?
No children, but I do have a black lab named Gus!

What’s your favorite surgery to help in?
Gastric dilatation and volvulus surgery where we fix flipped stomachs.

Favorite clinic responsibility?
Emergency patients.

Favorite animal and why?
Goats. I think they have the most personality. 🐐

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I would say most are surprised that I grew up on a farm.

What do you like most about working at VHC?
My coworkers. I have loved getting to know all of them over the years.

Educate yourself on the life cycle and cause of heartworms via the American Heartworm Society or by coming to see us here at VHC! Make sure your furry friend is on some form of heartworm prevention all year round as well to ensure their protection against this deadly disease.

Hello all!

Just a friendly reminder that our clinic will be closed for the Fourth of July and will open back up on the fifth to resume regular business hours. For any emergencies during the fourth, please seek out assistance with Allied Animal ER, located in Jonesboro, AR. They will be open from 7 am to 11 pm that day. 🎇

For our patients needing extra help during the firework season, please remember to get their Trazodone or Sileo prescriptions refilled before we are closed for the holiday. Get them while supplies last! 🎆

For this week, we’d like to introduce you all to Amber Palmer!
Amber is our one and only CVT on staff. She earned her license at Arkansas State University at their Beebe campus, and also earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Williams Baptist University. Amber is known for her determination, knowledge, creativity, and kindness. Here at VHC we also like to refer to her as the honorary ‘clinic mom’. Without Amber, this clinic would not run as smoothly as it does. She is an essential part of our technician team and an absolute joy and treasure to be around. You can find her assisting in surgery with Dr. Miller, volunteering her personal time at The Arkansas Pet Savers, running her business called the ‘Crazy Crafting Heifers’, and of course offering her kindness and words of wisdom to her coworkers. Her hard work, knowledge of the field, and skillsets are crucial to the VHC team and our patients. Amber makes such a difference in our patients lives and we cannot thank her enough for the sacrifices she makes daily.❤️

A bit about Amber:

Do you have any kids or pets?
I have one 6 year old boy and one 9 year old girl. I also have 2 pet snakes, a bearded dragon, and 5 dogs.

What’s your favorite surgery to help in?
Pyometras. They are the most fun and you never know when they’re gonna pop.

Favorite clinic responsibility?
Playing with puppies and working alongside Dr. Miller.

Favorite animal and why?
An otter because they are the cutest animal in the world.🦦

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
That I am not that outgoing.

What do you like most about working at VHC?
The staff! I wouldn’t survive without my girls.

To know her is to love her. Hannah is known here for her bubbly personality, work ethic, and relentless love for those in need of rescue and some extra TLC. Hannah is an essential part of our technician team and an absolute star behind the scenes. You can find her giving the best nail trims, putting a smile on everyone’s face, and always available to lend a helping hand to an animal or friend. Her compassion, hard work, and dedication to the VHC team and the animal world makes such a difference in our patients' lives and we simply couldn’t do it without her.❤️

Do you have any kids or pets?
Yes, I have one little boy whom I adore. He is my best friend for life. I have 7 fur babies, all who are girls besides my cat named Fat Man!

What’s your favorite surgery to help in?
I would say obstructions. It’s cool to see what everyone’s pets get into when their owners aren’t watching.

Favorite clinic responsibility?
Making sure that each patient is seen in a timely manner with all the love and care they deserve.

Favorite animal and why?
Cat! All day long. I have no reason as to why, I am just simply a cat lady. I have 5!🐱

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
That I am very emotional and take all of my patients passing personally.

What do you like most about working at VHC?
That I constantly learn something new every day!

Memorial Day Hours:

We will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th.

We will be reopening for normal business hours on Tuesday, May 28th.
