Meet Skunk, this sweet guinea pig came to us after being referred for concerns of a uterine mass. A CT scan confirmed the diagnosis (along with an enlarged o***y), but thankfully showed no signs of spread. Under the care of Dr. Caron and the exotics team, Skunk went on to have surgery to remove her reproductive tract and did wonderfully—she’s recovering like a champ!

Swipe to meet Dutchie — a resilient 4.5-year-old Great Dane/German Shepherd with an inspiring journey. 🐾💛

Dutchie was first referred to Oradell when his family noticed a worsening limp. An initial X-ray at his primary veterinarian revealed a concerning bone growth, leading to his referral to our hospital for advanced imaging and care.

After multiple scans and biopsies, our team — led by Dr. Carberry — worked closely with Dutchie’s family to determine the best path forward. When results remained inconclusive and his comfort declined, they made the compassionate decision to proceed with amputation. A later biopsy confirmed the growth was cancerous but had not spread, reaffirming that this was the right step for his health and future.

✨ One month later, Dutchie is thriving!
He has adapted beautifully to his three-legged lifestyle and is happily enjoying all the extra treats, cuddles, and butt scratches.

We are incredibly grateful to Dutchie’s family for trusting us with his care and for allowing us to share his story. Watching his resilience, sweetness, and strength has been a privilege for our entire team.

Meet Lele — a handsome young Siberian cat with a big heart and an even bigger story. 🐾💛

Lele came to Oradell Animal Hospital and was diagnosed with the neurologic form of FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a serious condition that, in the past, had very limited treatment options. Thanks to the increased availability of antiviral therapies, Lele’s life was saved.

Lele was closely monitored by our Emergency and Critical Care team for several days, with uncertainty about his outcome. Throughout his hospitalization, he received dedicated care from Dr. Fettig, Dr. Priarone, Dr. Gannon, Dr. Randolph, and Dr. Su, along with his devoted technicians, who were by his side every step of the way.

Lele is a sweet, resilient boy, and we are thrilled he’s now back home with his family and his Siberian brother, enjoying life with continued care, love, and plenty of purrs. 🐱💛
