Huck has a tennis ball obsession, so we always joke that he thinks we are growing “ball trees” for him in the garden. Yesterday we picked a tomato that had some spots and when we tossed it to the side, he fetched it. We should have known better, but it gave us a good laugh that he was so happy to have a “ball.”

The garden is starting to be full of peppers and I’m so excited! My favorite that we are growing this year is Hot Hungarian Wax, also known as a Hot Banana Pepper! What’s your favorite type of pepper?

We had another fun day at the market! One of the things I’ve enjoyed the most is seeing people laugh at our mystery tomato sign! It makes me smile knowing that our “happy accident” tomatoes bring a little joy to people.

We shared them on our Instagram yesterday, but wanted to share them here as well! We have a new-to-us cherry tomato variety growing in our garden this year - midnight snack! They will ripen to a sweet red tomato with hints of their dark past.

We are so excited for our first day at the Paris Bourbon County Farmers' Market tomorrow! We have 198 starter tomato plants packed up and ready to go, along with some bell peppers and other starter plants. Come meet us and check out what our backyard farm has to offer!
