We have received dogs left and right and simply cannot keep up. We are full at both locations (Paris and Carlisle). We REALLY need to get dogs moving as we do not want to be in a position to make decisions we do not want to.
Many are new strays that had no identification. Please microchip your pets! We can do it for you for $15.90 (current rabies vaccine required), we can update chip information for Home Again, and we include a free microchip for any surgery.
🐶 If you are missing a pet, PLEASE contact us. We have so many stray dogs and we know they had homes.
🐈 If you need to surrender, please understand that we have a waitlist and will try and accommodate you as soon as we can. However, we must prioritize animals that don’t have a family/home (strays) and ask you be patient for us to get you in.
🐶 On average, each dog/puppy costs $225. That’s for surgery, vaccines, and other medical care. This also accounts for daily care, but that quickly increases when dogs are staying here for weeks (like King — dog friendly Poodle mix who has been here for 5 weeks).

💙 Share! Sharing our posts means our pets can reach more people. Whether more supporters, adopters, fosters, or rescues, each share matters.

# PIBBLE PLAYTIME ALERT! 🐾
Just when you think you've seen peak cuteness, Vladimir and Razzle take it to a whole new level! These two pibbles spent the afternoon showing off their signature moves:
Vladimir with his famous "zoom and flop" technique, while Razzle perfected his
"wiggle butt welcome dance." They chased each other around the yard for a solid 20 minutes before collapsing in a heap of slobbery smiles and happy panting.
The highlight? When they both decided the same toy was THE toy, resulting in the most gentle tug-of-war you've ever seen, complete with playful growls that sound more like conversations than competition.
These two are living proof that pitties are just 60-pound toddlers in fur coats. Vladimir may look tough with his broad chest and serious face, but he's the first to roll over for belly rubs. And Razzle? He thinks he's a lap dog despite weighing as much as a small refrigerator.
They're not just best friends - they're the most adora-BULL duo around! 💕🐶🐶

Momma Naomi has officially weaned her babies and needs a fresh start on life. Once a roaming feral dog, a Good Samaritan contacted us when she had puppies in a shed. Our team went out with Nicholas County Animal Control with our trap and we were able to lure momma in with food and bring her and her 6 babies to our shelter on New Years Eve when we discovered she was severely vision impaired and had an injured eye and leg. After 8 weeks in care, we FINALLY made a little breakthrough with peanut butter and cheese!
She is scheduled to be spayed and have her eye removed (our veterinary team has decided she does not need her leg amputated at this time) — which is where we need your help!
♥️ Naomi is desperately looking for a foster or adoptive home where she can spend time decompressing in a quiet environment and learning that humans aren’t so bad. The ideal environment would be no young kids (she startles easily at noises and touch) and a secure yard as she will still need to be on a leash for safety. A home with other animals is OK, as long as they are respectful of her space so she isn’t too overwhelmed. ♥️
Naomi deserves a home. She deserves not to be roaming in rural Kentucky severely vision impaired and feral. She deserves to know what it’s like to be loved. PLEASE help us find her a foster or adopter!
