Woohoo!!! Got the keys to the new store today!!! Cannot wait to see how it changes over the next few days ❤️ Tilly's Pet Supply is getting a BIG upgrade!! We are so thankful for all of the excitement from everyone, the store has just been electric the last few weeks and we can’t begin to express our gratitude for all the love you’ve shown our little store!!

5.5 weeks! We are all hunkering down for the snow we are supposed to be getting. Puppies have now started going outside to wear off some energy every day and are LOVING their enrichment treats every day as well!!

PUPPY JOINTS AND BONES

"When you get your 8-week-old puppies, please keep these images in mind. Although this photo is a very young puppy, it’s to show how much has yet to be formed. The bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments, and skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don’t restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it you don’t give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited, bouncing run causes impact between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in. But when you’re letting puppy jump up and down off the couch or bed, or take them for long walk/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint."

Puppies' bones and joints are still developing until they are at least 18 months old. Too much exercise or walking can severely damage their bone and joint structures irreversibly. This should be taken seriously.

Things to avoid with your puppy:
*No jumping in or out of car, especially larger cars. This is because all the weight is on the puppy’s front legs and elbow joints as he lands. Lift the dog or use a ramp.
*No throwing balls or frisbee great distances for your puppy to chase. The sudden stopping and overreaching with the front legs is dangerous.
*Do not let the puppy slide or splat on slippery floors.
*Do not let other dogs knock or push the puppy over continually, includes body-
slamming.
*Avoid much stair climbing which can increase the risk of dysplasia.

24 hours fresh ❤️ Everyone is doing well!! 6 females, 4 males. Tilly has taken to being a Mama very well ❤️ We’ll post names as soon as we decide what to call them!

Update: We had 10 healthy babes born via C-section. We are beyond thankful for our amazing vet Dr. Kal and Amanda at Back Roads Vet Clinic!! We couldn’t be more thankful for you guys!!!!

Tilly decided today was a good day to have her littles, however.. her labor has not progressed so we are on our way to the vet for a C-section. Please say a prayer for our sweet Tilly and all of her babes.

We got through our male puppy picks and Chandler is the only pup left in our Tanzi/Tru litter. He’s spunky, confident, and very active and will do great with a more active family. He’s a stunning boy!!

24 hours old and so perfect ❤️❤️ We’re still working on a theme for names! Drop your suggestions below! PS: Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads out there (including those no longer with us)!!

Eating is messy business usually, but with 3 .. it’s a walk in the park!! They LOVE their puppy food already!!

After playing outside this morning we have 13 sleepy puppies who LOVE their Ruffland crate!! Nova and Morris couldn’t fit, so they both settled for close by ❤️

Needed a distraction this evening, so we got the puppies outdoor area all set up and added the wobble board and kennel for them! They are LOVING this beautiful weather ❤️❤️
