Good Day, Friends,

It looks like later this week we will have a shift in weather patterns that will result in a bitter-cold arctic front, which means temperatures will drop and remain below freezing for a few days. In order to help our indoor pets during this cold snap, here is some valuable information from our friends at ASPCA:

✅Remember, if it’s too cold for you, it’s probably too cold for your pet, so keep your animals inside.
✅Keep your home humidified and be sure to towel dry your pet as soon as they come inside.
✅Put petroleum jelly or other vet-approved paw protectants into paw pads before going outside to protect from salt.
✅After each walk, make sure to wash and dry your pet's feet and stomach to remove ice, salt, and anything else they may track.
✅Bathe your pets as little as possible during cold spells.
✅Never shave your dog down to the skin in Winter.
✅Thoroughly clean up any antifreeze spills.
✅Feed your pet a little extra in the Winter months (for their health and because they’re so special).
✅Make sure your companion animal has a warm place to sleep, off the floor, and away from all drafts.
✅Avoid letting your dog off-leash on snow or ice, especially during a snowstorm.
