👏But WHY?!👏

All this TrAiNiNg StUfF doesn’t matter unless you use it in real life, right?

So, I present to you, REAL life reasons why we use training. Because life happens, and you want to be able to RELY on your training, even when you’re not at 100% (because, honestly, who functions at 100% all the time? No one. That’s who. Not even trainers.)

This all can be boiled down simply, too. Training is so you can simply ✨enjoy your dog✨.

PLEASE, for the love of dog, please stop going to dog parks.

They are gross. They are dangerous. They are causing SO many behavior problems.

(Although, they *are* keeping trainers in business…sooo…maybe… just kidding. Stop it. Stop going, NOW.)

Welcome sweet Basil 🥰

This gal is an 8 month old GSD/Malinois (?) mix here for a manners overhaul! She is definitely a lover, and maybe a little too much so without any boundaries to tell her what’s appropriate!

Her owner said her top two priorities are:
1. No more mouthing/jumping/craziness!
2. Peaceful walks! Basil, in true fashion of wanting to love on everyone, has some excitement based reactivity that makes walks not so fun!

Some other wishlist items include:
-off leash freedom
-more calmness in the crate (she’s got some FOMO!)
-nails & grooming

2 years of full time Spark-K9! 🥳🥹

I started this little business as a side hustle in 2020, but I really mark the anniversary as this day, 2 years ago.

The day I walked away from a toxic AF job & work environment.
The day I said “yes” to myself & my dreams.
The day when this new chapter began.

I read a quote this year and I think about it often. It’s scary as heck to build your business, to continually bet on yourself, and to push through the challenges of being an entrepreneur.
The quote goes something like this:

“You simply take fear in one hand, and hope in the other, and move forward.”

Thank YOU for being here. I say it all the time, but I couldn’t be here without you and your dogs. And, I wouldn’t want to be here without you, either. 💕💕

Welcome ✨Gideon✨

This little nugget is a 6 month old pug, joining us for puppy bootcamp! She’s got a great foundation consisting of crate work, potty training, and a couple basic obedience commands (sit, wait, leave it).

While these foundations are fabulous, her owner is ready for a little bit more, which we LOVE!

Some goals for Gideon this week during training include:
✨learning some more obedience like “down”
✨how to have some ~calm~ moments
✨exposure to new things
✨overall being a great canine citizen!

Spark-K9’s Puppy Bootcamp Program! 🥳🐶

I’m super excited to be offering this day-training style program exclusively for puppies!

We all know that a well-balanced dog starts with a great foundation, especially during puppyhood, and this program aims to do just that!

Drop your puppy off for a full day of fun, play, and training (M-F) while you get to go do human things (like grab an uninterrupted coffee… ☕️).
Then you’ll pick your puppy up at the end of each day for nightly snuggles & continued bonding. Finally, on Saturday, we will all sit down with your puppy and go over everything they’ve learned, together! 💕

Sweet little Cleo is headed home with her mama! 🥰
(Also, the way Cleo looks at her mom 😍🤩)

These two absolutely blew me away during go-home - I can tell they’ve put in a lot of effort into training foundation.

I love when owners ask for a little extra help with training. While Cleo came to me with a fab foundation already, she’s now an even better version of herself after tackling some more advanced skills (like working through her anxiety, full off-leash reliability, and getting her into that follower state of mind).

I can’t wait to see where the adventures take these two! Be good, sweet Cleo!

Fern is HOME 🥳💕

This girl’s transformation was challenging & beautiful to watch. As a (slightly) older gal, things went a little slower paced which was a beautiful reminder of how dog training is about the ✨journey✨, rather than the destination.

I’m so proud of her, and now she’s off to her next adventure where the real work begins back home! Transitioning the training into real life will have bumps, but I have no doubt that her owners are capable and dedicated to see things through. Be good, Fern girl! 💕🌿
