I am so incredibly thankful for the opportunity I was presented with last week to host Erin, my first ~official~ shadow/mentor student. While she came to learn from me, I learned just as much from her and it was such a lovely week (not to mention, I was SO happy to have an extra set of hands to help with the dogs!).
I’ve always thought that a true test of one’s knowledge comes alive when they are able to teach someone else what they know. It was a fun, challenging, exhausting, fulfilling week that I will cherish for a very long time. 😊
An extra deep thank you to Erin for being patient with my awkward moments, trying your very best even through some of my questionable instructions, and keeping the week fun and full of laughs. It was truly a joy watching you grow your skills and handle the dogs. I cannot wait to see where the next chapters take you and support you along the way! 🐾💕
And as for something fun - stay tuned for a formal shadow/mentorship program announcement. This experience truly ~sparked~ something in me (See what I did there?!) Knowledge should be shared, so let’s embark on this journey, together. 🤲 (plus, the dog training industry needs more transparency, openness, and community, so you bet that’s what I’ll be doing!). ✨
