Willow had TPLO surgery here at AESC for torn cranial cruciate ligaments (CCLs). Afterward, she spent time with our Rehabilitation department to rebuild strength and optimize the results of her surgeries. The peanut butter was a paid actor.
The CCL is like the ACL in people and when it tears, it causes knee joint instability, pain, and arthritis. The TPLO surgery alters the knee joint’s biomechanics to stabilize the joint, allowing dogs to regain comfort, function, and go back to living their best life.
