Are you looking to get out and have some fun? December 7th and 8th here at AGEC we are having a boot camp weekend. We will do equestrian yoga, watch training videos, work together to teach our horses new skills, play games on horseback, make new friends, and above all… HAVE FUN! English or Western welcome. Stall included. For folks 16+ years old. 🤩 PM me if you are interested in coming. ❤️ We’d love to have you and your horse for a visit.

Ok, I can’t make this stuff up. I’m out feeding the horses on this beautiful morning. I’m checking on the horse in the paddock when I hear a mysterious 3 beat gait coming up behind me. I clearly thought someone’s pony came to visit because it was a light 3 beat. I turn around to see this BUCK headed straight toward me. He BREEZES me (thank you Gatts' Garage Gym for teaching me to bob) and then I scramble to get my phone out, in fear that no one will believe me. He was obviously faster than I was, but I did get a frame with him in it. Life on a farm. 🤷‍♀️ 🦌

Are you riding in the dark? Literally or figuratively?

We often hear that horses are the best therapy. Over the years of giving lessons, I’ve always tried to relate the ride/communication/situation to life situations outside the barn. Some clients embrace it, others not so much. This year I’ve focused my teaching style on meeting folks where they are and working the ride around it to help them take those tools back to their situation. Whether you are showing or just have a horse for fun, like any relationship, it requires work. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like life is a little more challenging since Covid. We’ve incorporated breath work, tiny bits of QiGong, leadership vs dominance, collection/correct framing from pairing with the horse vs trying to force a frame, reading energy levels of you, your horse, others, and most importantly… being present.

Last night even though we rode into the dark, I was gleaming with light. The trust, communication, leadership…and of course - fun…was powerful. Who needs daylight when our hearts shine so bright.

The light in me, see the light in you. ❤️
