Creek fire 5 year remembrance first responders event currently underway at Shaver Lake, Alma Beltran, mayor of Parlier, upon learning of a displaced family and their pets forced to evacuate at the last moment, selflessly provided a city house for temporary accommodation until they could return home, with Bambi's Army - Rescue of K9's housing the family large breed dogs and several cats.

Animal Welfare: amplifying the voices of those who need our support!!

FYI, you can add your animals into a California restraining order, such as a Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO), by specifically requesting the court to grant you exclusive care and control of the animal and order the abuser to stay away from it and refrain from harming it.

For years, I've had the privilege of watching hundreds of dogs pass through our rescue Bambi's Army - Rescue of K9's each with their own unique story.

From the litters we rescue to seniors on medication, from ferals and runaways seeking refuge to those who stayed overnight or for months.

There was one notable exception, a feral dog who couldn't find a home due to his aggressive nature named Jax.

But after three years, he formed such a strong bond with me that... well, he's finally found his forever home, but not with I.

Jax was confused when he left my care, and nipped his dad but they've always thrived in their new homes, bringing joy to their new families, I explained that it’s going to take half a year before they’re going to be allowed to touch him.

As a rescue, we are more than just a temporary stop; a vital chapter in their life story. By opening our heart and home, we are giving them a second chance, a new lease on life, and paving the way for other dogs to find refuge.

Though it can be heartbreaking, the rewards far outweigh the pain, I’m extremely heartbroken, he was one of my favorites with Owen, Myles, Scampy and Ashley.
