Canine Behavior/Obedience Training Apprenticeship - Interested in a career in animal care. This summer we will have several intern positions available - you can gain valuable, hands on animal care experience while gaining knowledge about canine behavior modification and obedience training from an award winning company.

Ideal candidates should be pursuing a career in the animal care field and available from 8:30-10:30 Saturday mornings starting in April. (Additional days/times will become available as the season progresses) They should also be available to attend public relation events and fundraisers.

Additional skills include marketing and public relations, hands on animal care experience, valuable experience hours for those that need hours logged for school or certification.

What a great first class returning favorite Sophie lead the way for the group of Newbies-we met Koda, Cody, Nellie, Chico, Blue, Charlie, Oscar & Holly. For a group of almost all new dogs it was amazingly calm-everyone did super awesome! Great job everyone and especially Koda who won the quick sit game & a T-shirt. It was invasion of the "newbies" in class today as we met Rocky, Charlie, Bella, Houston and Molly-who is available for adoption at the Berea Animal Rescue Shelter and is attending group classes to attain her CGC -BTW, she did GREAT!!!!! (Special thanks to ARF volunteers for bringing her today!)

Great class tonight-Our quick sit winner was Cooper-who won a super awesome portable canine hydration system (doggie water bottle) but forgot to pick it up before leaving-so we'll hold on to it till next time

With so many puppies in class I wanted to stress the importance of getting your little one used to being handled and groomed now, so that baths and nail trims become routine and not the knock down drag out battles that Anastasia and I have become accustomed to.

Get your dog used to having his/her feet rubbed and handled. Make nail trim and bath time a weekly thing to avoid the drama down the road.

Another Great Class tonight-we met Bear a Newfoundland mix puppy and Rufio a husky mix puppy-so between the newfie, the mastiff, and the dane Tuesday Night is turning into the night of the BIG babies!!

And of course we must announce that the winner of tonight's SIT game was none other than Hollie!! I had a feeling tonight was her night!!! Great job everyone!

Ice, Ice Baby-(Yes I am aware I just quoted Vanilla Ice)-If your pet is having trouble with housebreaking consider leaving them a bowl of ICE instead of water. The ice will only melt so fast and that way they can't fill their bladders early on in the day.

I suggest keeping two Tupperware like containers half filled with water FROZEN so when you leave you just grab one and you'll always have one left.
Also, if the container is one large block of ice your pet can't turn the cubes into play toys that leave puddles!

And now since I went there-here's some vanilla ice and a dancing dog

I got bored and remembered an inside joke with one of my friends and decided to make this. Lol anyways, hope you like it!

Today we met Sophia-the blue Weimaraner, (wow, she's a looker!), Abby-the Cairn Terrier (who really showed off a great sit/stay for a first class) and Seraphina - a mixed breed rescue who did well for a first class but definately lived up to her name (Latin - From seraphim, meaning fiery ones)

Last night Louie, the great dane puppy and Penny-the super cute rescue puppy-who both had a great first class-it will be interesting next week though when two adult great danes join the class and our buddy Baxter is no longer big man on campus!!
