Children and pets bring unmatched joy and love to our lives.

Together, they teach compassion, responsibility, and the purest form of friendship.

Watching them grow and bond is a reminder of life’s simplest yet greatest treasures. ❤️

Does your dog rock a sweater or jacket?

It's not just for style—it can be for comfort and health! Some dogs have thin coats, are small, or are older, making it harder for them to stay warm in cold weather. A cozy layer helps keep them comfortable and happy during chilly walks. Dressing your pup is a simple way to show love and care. Stay warm together!

Take a look at these pups parading around at our last VIP Petcare vaccination clinic.

New or gently used jackets and/or sweater donations are always accepted.

Up next, is Sevin.

Please wish Sevin well
as she will be spayed this morning by our friends at PetFix Northeast Ohio, Inc..

Mom's a little nervous, but the folks at PetFix will take good care of her.

Like the others before her, Sevin will receive both a rabies and a distemper vaccine, too.

So true! ♥️

Lots of spay and neuters going this month.

Our friend, Fionna, was spayed on Tuesday, and Xena was spayed yesterday by our friends at PetFix Northeast Ohio, Inc..

They are home and resting comfortably..

Their spays were made possible thanks to the generosity of their "Spay it Forward" sponsors Josie Siracusa Klimas & Emily Kilduff.

Next up. . . Sevin.

We're all out of "Spay it Forward" sponsors with 7 more spay or neuters on the books.

If you would like to help us make a difference in a pets life, family life, and the community as a whole, please sponsor one of the seven pets sitting on our waiting list.

STOP IT with all this cuteness! ♥️

These adorable puppy's belong to a client of ours.

She sent a text with these photos thanking us for the pet accessories & food we provided them last weekend.

We can't accept all the accolades. . .

The food and the accessories wouldn't be possible without the generosity of so many others.

Thank you all who have donated to Companion Pets of Cleveland over the these couple of years. 🙃

What does your pets toy really mean to them?

To a companion pet, a toy can represent various things depending on the pet's needs and personality. For many pets, a toy is a source of entertainment, providing an outlet for their energy and helping to stave off boredom. For dogs, toys often mimic hunting or prey behaviors, allowing them to express natural instincts in a safe and controlled way. For cats, toys can simulate hunting and stalking, satisfying their predatory urges.

In addition to play, a toy can also serve as a comfort object, providing a sense of security, especially during times of stress or separation. Some pets form attachments to specific toys, using them as a source of reassurance or as a familiar object when they are feeling anxious.

Overall, a toy represents a way for companion pets to engage with their environment, reduce stress, and maintain physical and mental well-being.

"Hi there. I don't know if you're the right person to tell this to but our golden retriever got her favorite food on the last day and she got a chew toy, which we could never afford for her. And it has made her such a happy dog.She stopped stealing our socks. So thank you for volunteering. And you made a difference in our life." E. Watts, Client

VOLUNTEER PROFILE:

Hi! My name is Carol Rini 😉

With over 10 years of experience in animal rescue, I am deeply committed to improving the lives of companion pets through volunteer work, education, and advocacy.

I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Board of a local animal shelter, assisting as a kennel worker at City Dogs Cleveland, working on fundraising for Tails From The City - Cleveland, and clerical work at Neighborhood Pets. I am deeply passionate about spay and neuter programs, believing they are a key solution to reducing the number of unwanted pets.

My passion for animal rescue is rooted in a firm belief that it’s a
multifaceted endeavor: when all elements work together, whether through shelter care, outreach programs and community involvement, positive and lasting change can be achieved for animals in need. 🐯

Currently, I am privileged to volunteer alongside Director Bob Stevens at Companion Pets of Cleveland and an incredible team of dedicated volunteers. Working under Bob’s leadership, I have had the opportunity to contribute to and collaborate with a passionate group committed to making a meaningful impact. ❤️

A Call That Changed My Life

Back in March 2017 I got a text from a gal I met while serving as the Vet Chairman at a local Animal Shelter. She called and asked if I could take in the five puppies her dog had given birth too. She didn’t have the means to care for them properly. These pups came to me with Mange, a skin disease that needed oral medication and weekly baths. I didn’t know how I was going to do it myself, but I answered her call and rose to the challenge. Many of my friends pitched in and brought puppy chow, crates, toys and a big puppy bed. We had a fundraiser from Tupperware to help defray the cost of their vet visit.

This experience changed my life, I loved working with these pups, getting them healthy and socializing them to become the best dogs they could be. We adopted them to some awesome families who still send pictures and videos to this day. This is how my journey began how this rescue got started.
