This is an example of why we tell you we will NOT shave 🪒 a double coated breed dog. This is shave shock where the hair grows back in patches, the coat is permanently damaged and will never recover. It may not happen the first time you shave the coat, but more than likely it will eventually occur. Dogs need their undercoat brushed or blown out and the top coat helps to regulate their temperature. Cutting the hair short leaves it unable to provide adequate insulation and protection from the sun. Many think it helps the dog to be cooler, but in reality they may over heat.
