Wheat State Poultry is a pasture poultry operation where we strive to provide better than store quality chickens.

Our birds are moved to fresh pasture daily so they can scratch, peck and eat fresh grass and bugs daily.

On this snowy cold Sunday we are making some homemade chicken and noodles because I mean isn’t that the definition of perfection?!

We finished out the first batch of birds yesterday!

At this very moment we only have 15 birds left to sell! F•I•F•T•E•E•N• 🐔

These babies are $6/lb ranging from 3-5 lbs. This next batch of birds we have seem to be double in size already! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 we have 5-8 pounders of delicious chicken come July!

You guys can just message me what you are looking for size wise and how many. I’ll let you know what we have and give you a price. We have PayPal, Venmo or just bring cash to pick up! Whatever works best!

Thank you to everyone who’s already purchased and supported our new adventure! The reviews we’ve gotten back have been out of this world and it makes my heart happy knowing we are feeding y’all with the best chicken for not only your taste buds but your health! ❤️💛🤍 We look forward to providing for your family for the years to come!

HOUSTON, WE HAVE LIFT OFF!

Today was a beautiful day!! We worked from sun up to sun down! I have to give a big shout out to Lisa & Galyn Heady. Along with Rusty Stringer. Without these guys today we would have not accomplished as much as we did! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

With that being said, if you won a free bird in our give away you are welcome to come pick it up tomorrow, Sunday the 16th between 12-2pm!!! If that time frame doesn’t work for you just shoot us a message and we can arrange something!

Rusty mixing up a batch of that special feed today for his chicks on his lunch break!

Ole porky here wanted to say hello 🙃 he’s one of three of our grass grazing piggies ❤️

We successfully moved the tractor yesterday with only 4 escaping! (Don’t worry we caught them) They must sense my childhood fear of them deep down inside of me 😳😳 instead of running away from me they came towards me. Convenient. 😬

We’ve had several request for ordering information and pricing. We also have had some interest in getting certain cuts as in breasts, legs, thighs, wings, etc. This first go round we are only offering WHOLE birds dressed that’s average out in 4-6lbs in weight.

Pricing will go as 1 bird at 26 dollars each or if you buy 5 or more 20 dollars a piece!

If we have interest in turkeys and special cut bundles we are looking to offer that starting in July. So just message me or comment on this post with your thoughts and suggestions!

Don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE. We still have 20 FREE birds to give away. I’ll stop taking entry’s for that on Friday, April 16th!

We did the dang thing and not a single little bird flew away or ran off! Such a good day and feeling for Wheat State Poultry! We are officially ready for lift off!

Our first batch will be ready for pick up tentatively May 15th. If you are looking to purchase a bird we are working on bundles and pricing as we speak. We are currently not allowed to ship yet so we will set up pick up locations if needed or just come directly to the farm to check us out!

We have started small to see just how much interest we truly have. Therefore birds are limited! Our second batch will be arriving a week from Tuesday! Will be ready mid June!

The Heady family welcomes you to Wheat State Poultry!

Wheat State Poultry is a small rural farm devoted to clean, honest food. Along with providing a Non GMO, Soy Free supplemental ration, we move our chickens to fresh pasture daily where they are free to live life as they should (scratching, pecking and eating bugs). Our chickens never receive any antibiotics, growth hormones or steroids. We receive day old chicks where they are housed in a brooder for 3-4 weeks until they are strong enough to survive the elements. We then move the birds to the chicken tractors for the next 4-5 weeks. Processing begins at roughly 8 weeks with the birds weighing between 6-8 lbs. All processing is done by yours truly to give you a clean, non-mechanically processed bird. So if you are tired of all the bogus food labels and looking for a superior naturally raised bird we are the ones for you! Just message us to get the bird your body deserves!
