WARMING CENTER TO OPEN IN LEXINGTON
12/20/2022

Henderson County EMA in partnership with the Henderson County Homeless Coalition and the Henderson County Sheriff's Office will be opening a Warming Center for those that may need a place to get out of the incoming arctic temperatures later this week. The center will open at the Watson Emergency Service Center in Conference Room A beginning on Thursday, December 22nd at 6:00PM and will remain open until Sunday, December 25th at 9:00AM. The Henderson County Sheriff's Office will be providing security for the location and the Henderson County Homeless Coalition will have volunteers on hand throughout the weekend to assist with needs that may arise.

Pets are not allowed inside the center, but we will have a few crates available inside the garage area of the Watson Center for pets to stay, if needed. Pet owners will be responsible for any food and water necessities for the duration of their use of the facility.

Entrance to the center will be off of Wilson Street. Please use the door at the top of the ramp. We will have signs marking the correct entrance.

Any individuals, churches or civic organizations that wish to provide meals or snacks to the center may coordinate through Mr. Miles Roberts with the Henderson County Homeless Coalition by calling 731-845-3803.
