We are having new flooring in our dog kennel building installed on July 11th. They will need 2-3 days to complete the job. We need temporary fosters for every dog! If you have a safe spot for one of them to hang out for a few days, please consider fostering for us! We need these new floors to continue to keep the dogs safe, healthy and happy! Fill out an application and we will foster match upon approval 😊

We will be closing to the public at 1pm today to deep clean due to a virus in our intake building. Unfortunately, we have to close intakes from now until at least Monday for cats/kittens. We will reevaluate then. Thank you for understanding.🐾

☀️🐾Happy first day of summer break!
The Pup Rally for our new therapy dog, Prim, had to be rescheduled for Monday, June 17th at 10:45 AM in the Tucker County High School Gym.
Please mark this special date on your calendars! We would love to see everyone there, especially our Davis Thomas students, to welcome Prim!🐾☀️

These kittens were brought to us by City workers who found them tied in a bag in a dumpster..We dont know what led up to this, but we are most heartbroken that they were plenty old enough to be away from mom and have a fighting chance at a long life. Even in the wild. They didnt deserve this.

We want whoever did this and everyone else to know that we are here as a resource to help you. The ONLY way to prevent unwanted litters is spay/neuter. We have several resources to assist you in doing so. If you cant feed your animals, we have food. If you need supplies, come and get a bag full. We are more than a drop off location but most importantly we are just that. The safe drop off location for these animals who never asked for any of this. We have what is necessary to provide you and them the best care possible. Help us help you. Please reach out to us if you need assistance with your pets. We will help you with open arms in any way that we can.

These babies are now receiving love, have a warm bed, full tummies and will be taken care of properly.

PLEASE COME TO US. This is never the answer.

Thank you to the kind workers that found them, captured them, and brought them to safety. You are appreciated by us but especially them🐾🤍

SNIP WV has teamed up with our shelter to offer TNR services, free of cost, for Tucker County residents!

This months trip is scheduled for June 26th. We have 15 spots available. These will go fast so make sure to call, message or email us asap to get those cats snipped, vaccinated, and returned safely!

If you dont have your own trap we are happy to loan them out. Call 304-478-6232, message our page directly, or email [email protected] to get added to this months list!

This guy's is still missing. He went out at first light this morning and decided to run. He still haven't come home. This is the first time he has ran.

Please, anyone that has seen him or sees him let us know. He is extremely friendly.

He will respond to: Pluto, Loki Plutonium, Little Man

He is the biggest love bug and should come to you for loves or food, he is ruled by his tummy after all.

He's got two little ls at home very worried for him to come home.

Our longest resident- Kimbo aka Bimbo, pretty boy, crazy boy, Bimbo Bimbo, Dork, honey bun.

Kimbo is the most food motivated dog we have seen in awhile. If you have a treat, you have his full attention. He is ready to work for you. Kimbo loves dogs in comparable size and older children. Kimbo is not okay with cats.

This boy is that heart breaker that doesnt realize fully where he is. He fits right in on the daily very busy schedule, sees many animals come and go much faster than him, and still is all heart and soul. He has won all of us over with that face, did he yours? Share share share this boy, he deserves a home so much!!

Olive is a very spunky boy, looking for his furever home! This young boy is full of life, energy and lots of love. Olive loves dogs and doesnt pay attention to cats. He loves to play fetch, go on walks, work his nose with interactives but most of all- belly rubs!! When its time to relax he will flop over and demand them. Olive very quickly learned the routine of the shelter and impresses all of us with how smart he is. Weighing in under 30 lbs, hes the perfect size for a buddy for children- he also reallly loves kiddos!

“Help locating

Striker somehow got out of his pen last night. I found his name tag collar behind his dog house, so he does not have any identification collar on. He is microchipped and he has a faded brand on his left side “DT”. He could be anywhere near Sully, Alpena, Gladwin, Parsons, basically anywhere in the surrounding areas.”
