Lola had a traumatic start in Mexico as a mama who witnessed her puppies get struck by passing cars. You would never know what she has been through given her happy-go-lucky nature.

This speckled beauty has spent her time in foster making friends at the park, going on hikes, and soaking up all the attention she can get. She’s great in the car, loves a good zoomie (as long as it’s followed by a nap on the couch), and will happily curl up in bed with you—head on your shoulder, if you let her.

Despite his name, Pierogi doesn’t identify as a dumpling, but rather a couch potato.

He was found by one of our rescuers who was pleasantly surprised to find he was microchipped, but his owner never claimed him after multiple contact attempts. Had we not seen his microchip registration date, we would have never guessed he was eight years old. His teeth are fabulous, his eyes are bright, and he looks much younger than his age.

Pierogi has been an absolute delight in his foster home. He is low maintenance, happy go lucky, and a social butterfly. This past weekend he went to the dog beach and brewery and had the time of his life. He gets along well with all people and dogs.

His foster raves that he is extremely well mannered and behaved in public, making it an easy choice to bring him everywhere. He loves going on walks and is great on his leash. He also is a good sleeper and will snooze through the night without a problem.

Miracle has been in our rescue for 10 months, but she still has a lifetime of love to give. She was found in dumpster in Tijuana—skin and bones, covered in road burns, with severed toes. The fact that she survived was nothing short of a miracle. Just weeks into her recovery, she amazed her rescuer even more by giving birth to a litter of puppies, all of whom have since found loving homes. Now, it’s Miracle’s turn.

Thanks to a generous sponsor, Miracle underwent complex leg surgery to help her walk on her paw pads instead of the hocks of her legs, which were covered in painful wounds. We knew there was a chance the surgery wouldn’t work, but we had to try—Miracle is young, full of life, and deserves every chance. Sadly, the procedure was unsuccessful. Per several vets’ advice, we have custom braces being made to keep her comfortable and protect her legs as she walks.

Despite everything, Miracle refuses to let her past define her. She embraces life with pure joy—soaking up belly rubs, cuddles, and even playtime with other dogs. She adores affection and car rides and will be your most loyal, loving companion. Gentle, fully potty trained, and endlessly forgiving, Miracle’s spirit remains unbreakable.

Bruce is a 2-year-old husky who survived the streets of Mexico, neglected and barely hanging on—until a Good Samaritan brought him to safety. Despite everything he’s been through, Bruce is the sweetest boy who adores kids, gets along with dogs of all sizes, and even seems okay with cats! Unlike most huskies, he doesn’t have the typical high-energy, escape-artist tendencies—he’s just an easygoing, loving boy. Romy is the sweetest little shadow you’ll ever meet! This 4-month-old spaniel mix loves to follow you everywhere, curl up in your lap, and be rocked like a baby. Her silky ears are made for petting and when she wags her tail, her whole body wiggles. At 11 lbs now and expected to be around 20 lbs full-grown, she’s the perfect-sized cuddle bug. You’ll want to gobble Graham up— he’s that sweet 🍪 Meet Graham, a 1-year-old pup who loves to be a lap dog (even if he’s not quite that small). He follows his foster mom from room to room, patiently waiting for the moment she sits down to cuddle. Graham is new to leash walking but already doing great, and while potty training is still a work in progress, he’s a quick learner.

Despite tough beginnings for him and his brother, left in a box at 2 months old in Compton, Graham is gentle, mild-mannered and melts when given affection. He loves long walks and snuggles in equal measure and is great with other dogs. His gorgeous deep red-brown coat makes it easy to hold his deep loving gaze and will leave his future family wanting s’more!

The other week we visited East Valley Animal shelter to pull some dogs in an effort to free up space for incoming strays from the fires. We observed Harley in playgroup and he stood out to us immediately - we were so impressed by this clumsy, bald puppy’s charm and manners.

Brought in from the streets with his brother, Kilo, Harley was in rough shape - a bad case of demodex mange, a double eye infection, and an upper respiratory infection. The mange has since resolved and he’s finally on the mend after antibiotics and some much needed TLC - although it will take some time for his fur to grow back in. Until then, he’s going to be a little bald (but still adorable).

Now being fostered by a wonderful family with kids he adores, Harley is a goofy and playful character! His fosters often catch him lounging on top of his crate instead of inside it. Recently, he surprised them by hopping onto the trampoline, eagerly waiting for the kids to join him!

Extremely food motivated, Harley scratches at his kibble bag when dinner time approaches. He loves meeting new people on walks and is gentle and social with everyone he encounters, dogs and people alike. His foster family reports that he’s a quick learner—he’s already mastered “sit,” fetch, and is doing great with potty training!

You Cannoli imagine how sweet this boy is! Meet Cannoli— the sweetest little treat you’ll ever meet! This 3-year-old pug is loyal too! He follows his foster around everywhere and is a champion cuddler. Cannoli sleeps through the night in his crate. He is still working on potty training but listens very well and is getting better each day. Cannoli isn’t much for toys—he’d rather play with his humans, especially kids! Kimmie is the perfect mix of chill and fun. Expert fetch-player, enthusiastic walker, and very happy couch potato. She is the ideal compact size weighing in at only 21 pounds. She bonds deeply and wants to be near you as much as possible. She can be shy with new people and visitors, and may take some time to warm up and trust that she’s safe. So far, she’s been good with smaller dogs — but can get a little nervous around big guys. She hasn’t had any accidents in her foster home and is very serious about her walks! Kimmie she’s eager to please and very interested in the world around her. Kimmie also settles down quickly in her crate.

Daphne is a four-year-old petite Miniature Schnauzer who was overbred and neglected. The owner was reported to the police and eventually she was surrendered covered in glue and paint. Thankfully, those days are behind her, and Daphne is ready to start the life she truly deserves.

Daphne is everything you could want in a companion. She’s affectionate, friendly with people and other dogs, and house-trained after only a week in foster. Daphne loves her crate, sleeps peacefully through the night, and has a playful yet calm demeanor. On walks, she has the sweetest habit of checking in on her humans—making sure no one gets left behind.

We’ve been so touched by the outpouring of support from our community. So many of you reached out to help with displaced pets from the fires, but we received way more foster offers than families and their pets in need.

We have written a lot of foster applicants recently who have been unable to commit or require the dog to be potty trained, so please only inquire if you are serious, committed, and willing to put in the work.
