We are looking for a dedicated Grooming Assistant to join our team and help ensure a smooth, efficient, and high-quality grooming experience for our furry clients.
Position Overview:
As a Grooming Assistant, you will be an integral part of our grooming team. You will assist our professional groomer by preparing pets for grooming, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. You will have the opportunity to learn grooming techniques while supporting our groomer in their daily tasks.
Responsibilities:
* Assist Groomers: Help groomers with washing, drying, and brushing, pets as directed.
* Pet Preparation: Prepare pets for grooming by brushing and performing basic care routines.
* Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure grooming stations, tools, and equipment are kept clean and sanitized. Follow proper hygiene protocols.
* Customer Service: Greet clients, check in pets, and provide updates on grooming progress. Answer client questions and offer product recommendations.
* Manage Appointments: Assist with scheduling and confirming grooming appointments.
* Handle Pets Safely: Use proper techniques for safely handling and restraining pets during grooming procedures.
* Inventory Management: Assist in keeping track of grooming supplies and equipment, and notify management when supplies are low.
Qualifications:
* Animal Handling Experience Required: Please note that this role involves more than just playful interactions with puppies. We are looking for candidates who have experience with the responsible handling and care of animals, as the role requires attentiveness, patience, and the ability to manage pets in various situations. If you love animals and are ready to work in a professional grooming environment, we want to hear from you! Prior experience in pet grooming is a plus, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
* Love for Animals: A passion for working with animals and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
* Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry pets and grooming equipment. Must be comfortable standing for long periods and handling animals of all sizes.
* Communication Skills: Ability to interact with clients professionally and courteously.
* Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an eye for cleanliness and detail.
