Limbo Chihuahuas is a registered 501c3 nonprofit. We rescue Chihuahuas and Chihuahua Mixes, and we are located in the Tampabay area of Florida.

The organization was formed to provide services for several dogs that had been left without a rescue to serve them. We are a small organization and limited in our resources. We do rescue dogs as necessary and within our means. Most all dogs come from high Kill shelters within the state of Florida. We are a 501c3 non -profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Last but not least is Apollo! This chocolate boy is as sweet as a Hershey's Kiss! He is the biggest of the four puppies & has no problem pushing his brothers out of the food dish! He is the shyest of the four but loves you and your lap in about 5 minutes. Apollo and his brothers will be at Wild Ginger Apothecary this Saturday August 17th for a Limbo Chihuahua fundraiser. Today's spotlight is on Orion. He might be the smallest of the litter but don't call him the runt! This little guy is ALL play! He has no fear with the bigger dogs! He loves people & cuddles but has a ton of energy. And boy, does he have to grow into those ears!! Meet Thor! This 3.5 lb little boy was born 5/21/24. Thor is a Happy Boy who always has a smile on his little face! When he isn't wrestling with his brothers, he is snuggling next to you on the couch. Meet Hercules! This gorgeous boy looks like a miniature German Shepard! He was born 05/21/2024 and weighs in at 4 lbs. Herky loves to be picked up and will even come to you! He is on the sensitive side and can be a bit of a Drama King when it comes to rough puppy play. Come meet him and his brothers on August 17th at Wild Ginger Apothecary in Sarasota. They will be raising money and looking for their FurEver Homes. Fill out an application ahead of the event and become preapproved! No phone calls

Hello fans and happy Saturday! We have certainly had an exciting month. Little Munchie had to have an amputation and he is doing so much better! Poor little Chi Chi had a seizure and we are talking to the doc to find out what is wrong. Edna and Cookie are two little waifs that needed so much love. Honey and Bubbles came to us from local shelters and are looking for a foster or forever home. Sweetie, Sonny,Cher, Roscoe and the almost 20 other pups in our care need monthly preventatives and some require other daily meds. Merry Christmas! Okay well, 6 months early but, close enough! Do you remember Joy? She came to us from a severe neglect situation and she was extremely shut down. After more than a year in rescue she was on the path to healing. She went on walks and was learning that not all people are bad. And then surprise, at her annual check-up she was positive for heartworms....ugh. So, just like a pregnancy test, heartworm tests can give false positive and negative results. She had been on preventative for about a year. The worms were not getting any worse but, we have opted to go with the quick kill treatment. This is a very expensive procedure and not easy on the pup. The doctor is confident in this treatment and mom is committed to making sure this procedure is as easy as possible on Joy. Please help us help Joy live a long and healthy life. Oh my! Have you met Sweetie? Her foster mom has worked miracles! This is what mom has to say.. Hi all! Sweetie is doing great! I've had her since January 29 (I can't believe we're at three weeks, it actually seems like longer?) and she's making great strides. She is on the move if I am, mostly following me then backing up if I turn, and trying to stay behind me or always make sure no one is behind her... 👀 She lets me put on her harness now for walks and does great on a leash. She runs now with my dog Doris, trailing her leash behind her ...and waits or comes back if I call to her. ↩️ She has such a waggy butt, and when she's happy she stretches out her back legs and is onto her belly, kind of chomping with her mouth to show excitement. Her tail wags and wags and wags when she's happy. She actually exhibits pure joy to be outside walking and loves 'being a dog' with my dog. 🐶 She is such a dear sweet soul and I can't imagine what she went through before to have to go through all this, just to get to 'normal'. 😮 I think she'd do fine as an 'only dog' but has done super with Doris and if Doris is sniffing something Sweetie runs over to see what it is too, like she's learning to be a dog from her a little bit?
