At the vet today and found this interesting article on “Highly Sensitive Pets” stating cultivating a calm, quiet home helps these (and all) pets cope and feel less stressed. Many of our clients fit into this category and our boutique caters to the highly sensitive pet who thrives when your vacation is THEIR Vacation!

Experiencing a home environment may be a benefit for pets who seem less comfortable in a kennel or vet care situation. For example we add special touches like including articles of clothing from your laundry basket in our packing checklist so we can be sure your scent stays with your pooch throughout their stay.

What do you think about this doggy gate demo? We prefer to use a traditional doggy gate 24/7 that blocks off the room entrance prior to our front door. It is provides superior protection because that way we always have a safety net. If your pooch sneaks by, they have only snuck into our front room, not out the front door! -🐾🐾

We may be off to deck the halls but a study shows your pooch would appreciate a brief goodbye moment before we fa la la away. Let’s face it, this season is magical, and it’s also a bit of a hustle and bustle. We all get a bit busy this holiday season so this study is a great reminder to pet your pooch before you depart. We try to incorporate petting along with “Be right back” every time we go out.

Everyone is talking about TobyKeith, the oldest living dog, a 21-year old Chihuahua rescue. But we were amazed to know that the record for the oldest dog ever goes to Australian cattle-dog Bluey, who lived IN THE 1900s-1930s until he was 29 years old. Wow! What a beautiful long life!❤️

We rescued 21 bunnies from a research lab where they lived in a cage and were subject to awful cruelty. Since coming to The Gentle Barn they are now safe, healthy, spayed, socialized, and learning to trust that humans can be kind and the world can be good. They now need loving forever homes.
