🐾 Why Do We Recommend F***l Samples?

At Pet Medical Center, we know collecting a f***l sample isn’t the most glamorous part of pet care but it’s one of the most important!

💩 What’s a f***l test?
A f***l exam checks your pet’s stool under a microscope to look for internal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, coccidia, and giardia.

🐛 Why it matters:
Even the healthiest pets can carry parasites without showing symptoms! These little hitchhikers can cause:
• Weight loss
• Diarrhea or vomiting
• Dull coat
• Fatigue or “just not acting right”
Some parasites can even be transmitted to humans, especially young children or those with weaker immune systems.

✨ The benefits:
• Keeps your pet healthy and comfortable 🐶🐱
• Protects your family and other pets 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
• Catches issues before they cause illness
• Helps ensure parasite prevention plans are actually working!

📅 How often should you bring one?
We recommend a f***l sample at least once a year, and any time your pet has tummy issues or you notice unusual stool.

💡 Tip: You only need a small, fresh sample (about the size of a grape)! Just pop it in a sealed baggie or one of our collection containers and bring it with you to your next visit.

Because when it comes to your furry family, even the tiniest things can make a big difference. 💚

🩸 Why Bloodwork is Important for Pets 🐾

• Baseline check 🧾 – For younger pets, bloodwork helps us learn what’s normal for them. This creates a health record we can compare to later in life so even the smallest changes don’t go unnoticed.

• Early detection 🔎 – Pets are experts at hiding when they don’t feel well. Bloodwork allows us to peek “under the surface” and catch early signs of issues like kidney disease, liver changes, thyroid imbalance, or even diabetes sometimes months before symptoms appear.

• Senior bloodwork– By age 7, many pets are considered seniors. Routine testing helps us track how their organs are aging, manage conditions early, and keep them happy and comfortable in their golden years.

• Safe anesthesia 💉 – Planning a dental cleaning, spay/neuter, or surgery? Bloodwork checks red/white blood cells, liver, and kidney function to ensure anesthesia is safe and allows us to tailor medications to your pet’s unique needs.

✨ Even when results come back normal, that’s valuable it means peace of mind for you and a health reference for the future!

📅 To schedule, you can always book an examor if your pet has already had an exam recently, call us to make a quick tech appointment for bloodwork.

💡 Don’t forget!

Bringing a puppy home is pure joy but it also comes with a big dose of responsibility. A little preparation goes a long way in helping your new family member feel safe, comfy, and loved.

✨ Create a cozy space – Set up a quiet nook with a soft bed or blanket where your pup can rest and feel secure.

✨ Gather the essentials – Leash, collar, ID tag, food and water bowls, puppy food, and plenty of fun toys are must-haves.

✨ Puppy-proof your home – Tuck away electrical cords, secure cleaning supplies, and remove anything sharp or chewable that could be dangerous.

✨ Plan for training – Start early with basic commands, potty routines, and gentle socialization.

✨ Schedule a vet visit – Book a wellness exam and vaccinations to give your puppy the healthiest start possible.

A little preparation sets the stage for a lifetime of happy tail wags and snuggles! 🐕💙

🌟 Meet the Adorable Miss Ash! 🌟

Ash might be a familiar face around here her awesome dad works over at Bylee’s Pet Store & Supplies, and we’re lucky enough to see her when she tags along for work days! 💕

This gorgeous Border Collie/Cattle Dog mix turns 2 years old on October 13th, and let us tell you… she’s way too smart for her own good! 🎉😎

Ash has one of those big, beautiful personalities that keeps everyone smiling. Out in the open she can be a bit shy a gentle observer who likes to take everything in. But the moment she steps behind the work counter, it’s like a whole new Ash appears! Suddenly she’s the boss greeting all the ladies like it’s her full-time job, tail wagging, eyes sparkling, totally in her element. ✨

She’s confident, sassy, and sweet all rolled into one adorable little package. (Sorry fellas… she’s got a type! ) Every time she stops by with her dad, it brightens our day. She knows exactly how to win hearts a little charm, a little sass, and a whole lot of love.

Happy early 2nd Birthday, Ash! 🎂 Thank you for bringing so much joy (and just the right amount of mischief ) to our PMC family. We adore you, sweet girl! 🐾💖

🐾✨ Pet of the Week: Meet Nami! ✨🐾

Nami is a sweet 1-year-old who was adopted from BFHS and has been stealing hearts ever since! She’s extremely playful and especially loves a good game of fetch bonus points if the ball squeaks! 🎾✨

When she’s not chasing her favorite toys, Nami enjoys soaking up the sunshine ☀️ and then snuggling up close for cuddles. She’s a total lovebug with both people and other dogs, and has never shown an ounce of aggression. 🐶❤️

Recently, Nami visited Dr. Sneed for her wellness exam and vaccines, and she did amazing! 🌟 She’s healthy, happy, and full of love to give.

Nami is truly the best mix of fun, gentle, and affectionate she’ll brighten anyone’s day! 🌸

🌟 Meet Len! 🌟

Say hello to Len, a 4-year-old pup with a huge love for life and for balls, especially the squeaky kind! 🎾🐾 This affectionate and playful guy is a true Velcro dog, always happiest when he’s by his favorite humans. Len also has a natural talent for tracking nothing escapes his nose! 👃✨

Len and his dad recently made the big move to the Tri-Cities all the way from Texas and Utah, and we were thrilled to welcome him for his very first wellness visit with Dr. Cleveland. 💙

Let’s give Len a warm Tri-Cities welcome in the comments! 👏
