It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of my sweet Faith 😢 💔 🌈🐾
Her breeder called this morning to tell me the sad news. They have no idea what happened. As you know, this litter had a very rough go from the beginning and sadly none of them made it. This is one of the hardest parts of breeding. My heart goes out to Faith, my wonderful friend, who I know took amazing care of her and to her guardian family who was so excited to get her. We are absolutely heartbroken.

*UPDATE* GUARDIAN FAMILY FOUND for Faith. She is free. Guardians are responsible for regular Vet bills, food and a loving home. I take care of all breeding expenses. Call/text 401-808-0330 or PM me. My baby girl Faith is 3 weeks old now. She is a black female who will be a future momma and will be coming home in December all the way from the Mid West! I am keeping her name that the breeder gave her as Faith because this little miracle has a very special story behind her. Faith comes from a litter of 17! Her momma was having a very hard time during her labor, and her breeder rushed her in for an emergency C-section, which she was told to go home and try to let her whelp naturally; sound familiar?! Yes, this has happened to me in the past as well. Hope was brought in the next morning where an emergency C-section was performed and only 4 puppies were alive. 2 females and 2 males, all black labs. Within the next few days, sadly all 3 siblings passed away. 😢 Faith is the only one left and is a strong and feisty girl who is healthy and getting very chunky! This little blessing was definitely meant to be! 💖

*IMPORTANT* Any dog that is taking Simparica Trio, I highly recommend taking your dog off of it. One of Aspen’s brothers, who is a grown adult, had a serious seizure the other day. Thankfully he got to the Vet in time and is going to be perfectly fine. The Vet said it was directly linked to Simparica Trio. This has been a known side effect of this flea, tick and heartworm medication and sadly has affected other dogs as well (not mine). Good flea, tick and heartworm prevention to use is Interceptor Plus, Bravecto, Heartguard and Nexguard. I personally use Heartguard and Bravecto on my Studs and retired momma’s and Interceptor Plus and Bravecto for my breeding momma’s (they’re the only ones safely approved for pregnant and nursing dogs). ❤️🐾

Must read! Awesome and very informative article! 🐾

When you get your 8 week old puppies, please keep these images in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

When you're letting your puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.
