I would like to share that my husband and I will be heading to Pasadena to rescue endangered Desert Tortoises who have been burned or displaced due to the devastating wildfires 🔥. I'll be reaching out for donations to support my exotic veterinarian's office and the animal pharmacy, and I'll keep you all updated. A Friendly Reminder 🐢

A 100+ pound Male Sulcata is monumentally different to house than a hatchling, yearling or juvenile.

They require a large, fully secured enclosure with a sizable heated shed/barn/house for the winter.

They p**p like a cow, they rearrange furniture, they dig, they eat a lot (A LOT), they will try to mate with inanimate objects, they can be destructive.

You HAVE TO spend the time and resources to set them up properly or it’s a recipe for disaster and you will end up rehoming him.

With the right setup they are amazing and very rewarding pets. Please do not listen to anyone selling them as an “easy” or “starter” pet.

You wouldn’t put a cow in your living room, or a horse in your laundry room, just like livestock they need to be outdoors.

Sulcata’s are grazers, they want to eat grass, lots of grass, they want to explore and roam a large enclosure, they need shade to escape the searing sun, they want to play in the mud and soak on hot days, they will plow through inadequate fencing and escape.

When you hear people in FB groups say “Do your Research”, this is what they mean. Is it cool to have a giant tortoise roaming your backyard? ABSOLUTELY!, but you owe it to him and yourselves to set him up for success.

little Miss Pig Pig is off the bottle and ready for a forever home!! Pig Pig is a KuneKune pig, she was the runt & rejected by her mother. She was bottle fed from birth and is smaller then her siblings but not by much. Pig Pig is like a puppy, she comes to her name, doesn’t run off, follows me everywhere, loves to snuggle, loves swimming or her baby pool, LOVES to play with dogs, great with small children, knows the word no very well lol and will sit at my glass back door with my dogs begging to come in! If you would like more information on adoption please reach out to me at 805-423-6546 FYI: Pig Pig at this point is a pet not a protein. 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷

Definitely not a reptile 🐢 but this piglet 🐽🐖 was rejected by her mother. She came to the rescue only 4 hours after she was born with her belly cord still attached. Her name is Spot, she has been such a blast for us all to rehabilitate 💗! Spot will be missed. Spot is a Kune Kune pig & will be up for adoption Early August.
