Escaping the heat down at The Santa Barbara National Horse Show! All the horses competed in their first $5000 National Hunter Derby with two top placings. We rounded out the week moving everyone up in the jumper ring Sunday in the equidome. Such a fun week with the best groups of horses and riders 🌊🏆🥇

Very proud of SPS working student, Anni Richard, for getting accepted and participating in the United States Hunter Jumper Association - USHJA Emerging Athletes Program with clinician Linda Allen at Paso Robles Horse Park!

We had a blast hosting the Emerging Athletes Regional Clinic! It's amazing to see the next generation of riders refining their skills in everything from stall cleaning to course setting to riding with Clinician Linda Allen. Thank you for organizing such wonderful educational programs for these riders.

Big congratulations to the owner of Matcho who was awarded the Young Jumper Champion at the Rosé in May Show at . He placed first and second in all his division classes leading him to champion of the division, champion for all young jumpers competing as well as jumping a clean round the $2500 speed class.

Slow and steady wins the race.

After a bad accident on another horse that kept out of the saddle for 6 months, our goal was to build confidence getting back into the show ring. When she purchased ‘Sprinkles’ as a 6 year old we knew this special horse would excel in any ring. Although our goal was to move up in the jumper ring, we decided to take it slow and give him experience in the hunter ring as she builds her strength and confidence back up. The pictures speak for themselves that they can excel in any direction. I’m very proud of Anni for her patience and commitment to her horse and riding.

We had such a great trip down to Del Mar for the . We had so much fun and can’t wait to come back again next year.

Runaway Saturday aka Tuck is an 8 year old 16.2h OTTB gelding. He is a simple, easy going type with success in the hunter ring through the rated horse shows. He was Champion in the USHJA 2’3” hunters at his second horse show and has competed with amateur riders through the low child/AA hunter division. Congratulations are in order for our two most recent Cal Poly graduates, Tatum Malcolm and Catherine LaBella who both graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. Tatum and Cat have been an integral part of Team SPS throughout the course of their college careers. We are so sad to see them go but can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two!

She is simple to flat and has three lovely gates and style over the fences. She has her own motor and an adjustable stride.
