👀 LOOK 👀 at Otto!!!

Otto just lost his human, his home and he’s scared in the shelter.

Otto is an easy dog. He comes out of the kennel just fine.

He misses his dad and he’s looking for a family to call his own. Will you be his family?

Otto is believed to be between 5-8 years old. He’s about
50 pounds. He’s house broken. He’s a Pit mix…we think with Whippet.

He’s shown a lot of affection when we visit with him.

💕 SHIRLEY ADOPTED 💕 This sweet middle aged girl was sadly passed over for more than a year . Shirley became depressed and would just lay in her kennel and wouldn’t want move. and asked us if there was any way we can help her. Of course we said yes and began looking for a foster. Well, came down to meet her one weekend and that was it! Once she rolled for belly rubs, they knew she would be coming home with them! Shirley is now full of life, blossoming into the adorable love bug we all knew was in there! We are thrilled to say she is officially adopted for Valentine’s Day! Shirley, we are so happy you found your happily ever after!

Over the last month, we have stocked the pet pantry weekly. Even got a few of the Clifton High School Seniors in on the action 😊.

It’s that time again! We can use help filling up this pantry. You are welcome to visit the pantry yourself and donate directly to it. It’s located on the Municipal Complex, infront of the yellow fire house.

We also have two wish lists we created for this purpose. Your purchase gets shipped to our VP, local Clifton resident, and she is filling the pantry with your purchases.

💜🩷Poppy wants to know why no one has adopted her yet!!!🩷💜

This is Poppy!!!! Poppy is damn near perfection!
Poppy loves her stuffies. She can be seen carrying them around with her randomly throughout the day. Poppy is approx 5 years young. Spayed, UTD, and vaccinated. We believe Poppy to be a sporting dog breed. She loves to “point” when on walks and in the yard and she has prey drive.

✅Poppy is crate trained.
✅Poppy eats in her crate - which is FANTASTIC for a multi dog home.
✅Poppy is housebroken.
✅Poppy sleeps all night in her crate - again, FANTASTIC for multi dog homes.
✅Poppy takes treats super easy and gentle.

Some other points about Poppy:
🐾Poppy is not a dog who plays. She wishes to just exist among the other dogs.
🐾Poppy would love long walks and outdoor play.
🐾Poppy does have prey drive, so she will go after birds 🦅 , squirrels 🐿️, and any other small prey…so NO cats! 🚫🐈.

Poppy just needs time to adjust to her surroundings and she will be your best friend.

Poppy would do amazingly in a home with another mellow dog(s), someone to help build her confidence.

Things Poppy has learned since she’s been in foster:
🔵She found her bark! She now joins the group in warning everyone within earshot, that the postman/delivery man is at the front door.
🔵 She’s learned to protect her stuffies from her foster brother, Dutch. (hehehe)
🔵 She has learned that when all the boys in the house take over the dog beds, that she goes and takes over the sofa 🛋️ (Lolol)
🔵Poppy let us trim her nails as long as someone else was scratching her ears/head. WINNING!

Brick was a long time resident and a staff favorite, especially of . However, Meg knew his year long stay in the shelter was breaking him down and time was not on his side due to lack of interest.
Once again, we took a chance on this senior boy and it took one trip to the adoption event and this is where Brick’s story began.
He met his most amazing foster family .w.ritz and they opened their home to show Brick what true love meant. Brick blossomed in their home and his true personality came through.

This all leads to where we are today...we happily announce our lowriding lovable senior meatball found his forever home with where his days are filled with naps and lots of love!
You did it Brick! We always believed in you! Welcome home! 💙🐾

This sweet playful boy is urgent for a foster / adopter as he is currently spending his days at the shelter. He is about 3 yrs old, loves people and dogs and would flourish in almost any home. He’s a medium guy weighing in at 57lbs, utd on shots and neutered.

🐾 FOSTER NEEDED….Ali has found himself returned twice to for no fault of his own except being a puppy. He is now growing up in a shelter and that is no place for a dog to grow up. Sadly, it is taking its toll on Ali and he is losing weight and has bad diarrhea due to stress. Ali needs a patient and understanding home who is willing to put in the work a puppy needs. 👏 There is no greater comeback and underdog story than Clarence! We first became aware of Clarence in the summer when he was being neglected in an apartment in Paterson. We fought hard to secure him, but then later learned he was let loose on the streets of Paterson and ended up in the shelter.
and were able to evaluate him and learned what a beautiful soul he was, he was just never given the chance. In addition to being dumped, Clarence was suffering from an extreme skin infection and was covered in sores.

As always , came to his rescue and fostered him and through the care of Dr. Kahn at and he was nursed back to health. It was during this time Clarence’s personality truly shined and we saw just what an incredible dog he was.
Clarence then got his chance….he met the most amazing family who fell in love instantly and now, he and Pitsey, his fur sister are living harmoniously. Today, we are so happy to anounce that our most special boy has been officially adopted!

Clarence is now Tovi - which means “my good creature” and the rest is history!
A true underdog story! 👏

❤️‍🩹 We received heartbreaking news yesterday regarding Pako, who we saved last year from . From his adopter

“I just wanted to give you an update. I just took Paco to an internal medicine specialist his kidney function is getting much worse and he’s becoming much more anemic the medication he needs is extremely expensive. It will only help his blood count it will not help his kidneys he’s developed hypertension and she said just a matter of time before he begins to get more and more lethargic and stops eating all together.”

His Mom is doing everything she can for Pako and already gave him his first dose of medicine, Darbepoetin (Aranesp), last night.
The medication is over $1000. The medication is given once a week until you reach the targeted blood levels. After that it’s a maintenance dose depending upon how frequent his levels will drop. If she can keep his kidneys at bay with just the Sub-Q fluids at home and get his blood levels up they might stay up.

Nothing like a late night, last minute save…meet Clarence’s long lost daughter Jolene. We had no idea where his puppies went after Clarence and the mom were left, tied to a fence in Paterson. Well, one appeared today as they could “no longer care for her”. Shocker 🙄 In any event, she is sweet as pie and thanks to we were able to secure her immediately. She will be getting vaccinated this weekend and she will NEED A FOSTER 💕 We are estimating her to be about 6-7 months old and she will absolutely need the basics as she knows nothing 😞 if you would like to foster Jolene, please fill out the LINK IN BIO.

Our sweet Buffy fka Nala (Paterson 5) underwent eye surgery for her severe cherry eye this morning. She just finished up and did incredibly well! We hope she has a quick and easy recovery ❤️‍🩹 Thank you and for taking such amazing care of Buffy and ensuring mom that Buffy’s surgery would be a success! 💰 Please consider donating towards Buffy’s bill as it is another expense incurred and added to our medical expense list.
