Love this story…..

Today I adopted a human...
It broke my heart to see him so alone and confused. I suddenly saw his watery eyes as he looked into mine. So I barked with all my might and went after him, following from house to house.
Finally, I got close enough to touch his hand with my nose. The man smiled and I felt his heart begin to warm. I moved closer to his face and felt his tears start to flow. I looked at him and he replied with a beautiful smile.
I jumped into his lap excitedly, promising
that I would be fine, that I would love him forever, and that I would never leave
him. How fortunate that he passed by where I was and that we could meet like
that. I felt lucky too.
So many people have been there, but only he, only he, stopped looked at me. I'm
glad he made a choice and that I was able to save his life.
Today I adopted a human.

This beautiful Akita boy was found roaming the streets of Patterson yesterday. I scanned it for a chip (none) and it doesn't have a collar or tags. He has very well manicured nails (including dew claws) and beautiful teeth, so I think he's someone's pet. He's a very friendly guy. If you know who belongs to this dog, let me know and I'll direct you to the people who are holding him!

I'm taking care of a "Parvo" pup for one of my clients this week (giving 50ml Sub-q parvo treatment fluids twice a day for 7 days). The pup seems to be shedding the virus nicely. She squeals like a little piggy during each treatment, but seems to be responding well. Parvo is such an ugly virus for pups!

In addition to teaching First Aid / CPR for humans, I also teach it for animals.

Point of clarification: I don't teach dogs, cats, etc. how to perform CPR, I teach humans how to perform it on animals....I'm a pretty good dog trainer, but not that good!

Taught animal first aid and CPR today to a group of folks in Grayson (Near Patterson). Raised $70 in donations to Noah's Ark Foundation, and had a great time teaching this group. Always love teaching to fellow animal lovers. Thanks Karen Johnson for setting this up and to Linda Edwins and Maria Sermeno for hosting it!

Saw a "found dog" posting on Next Door in my neighborhood for this little Jack Russell / Corgi mix. He escaped when fireworks were going off the other night. He didn't have any collar tags, so I offered to go over and use my chip-scanner on him. Turned out he had a chip, so I called Home Again. He wasn't in their database so they referred me to a master chip database company, and we found the owner in about 10 minutes time! His name is Dobbie, and owner and dog we're glad to see each other.
