🗓️Make sure your pets have their medications ready BEFORE the Labor Day holiday!

Here are the steps you need to take:

1. **Check Medication Supplies**: Look through your pet's medications to see what needs to be refilled now. Do not delay.

2. **Online Pharmacy**: Login to place your orders TODAY. Medications placed today will NOT SHIP OUT OF THE PHARMACY UNTIL NEXT MONDAY OR TUESDAY. This medications may not arrived at your door until next Thursday or Friday.

3. **Keep a min of a 90 day supply**: Our office cannot control shipping times. Just like your medications, you should keep at least a 90 day supply of all of your pets medications on hand.

💛Make sure to take action TODAY to avoid any last-minute issues! 💛

🗣️Our office does not stock special medications. We will not be able to accommodate in clinic pick ups of medications.

🤩It’s been a big couple of days at BVCS!

✏️🚌📚Nurse Erin, Dr. Jess and OM Jen all had kiddos celebrate big school milestones-high school, kindergarten and pre-k 🥹💕

🏋️‍♀️The second BIG were the huge patients! In just two days and with just two patients we had a total of over 300 lbs of big lovin’ doggies! 🐶One weighed in at 204 lbs and the other at 166 lbs. We love ‘em but they wore us out! 😰

💪We are feelin’ strong! Nurse Erin caught the memo to stand like Rosie the Riveter…Dr. Jess, not so much 🤭

🐾We have been waiting for the perfect time to introduce Natalie to the BCVS community!

🩺Natalie is a pre-vet student who has the option of guaranteed admission to vet school. This is a very prestigious academic achievement that is only offered to a very limited number of undergraduate students. 🙀

🤩Natalie has been an amazing student to host at BCVS! And as she prepares to embark on her vet med journey, the BCVS team wants to take a moment to show our support! 🎓💖

🐾What? Did somebody say Boy Kitty?!

😻It’s International Cat Day! 😸

🐈Furry felines always add amazing snuggles and purrs to our day and they can have very unique medical needs 🩺

🩻There is so much veterinary research being dedicated to cats! We look forward to what can be unlocked about our complex, athletic, mysterious friends!

🐈‍⬛For fun, Boy Kitty 👇is demonstrating what a good body condition score allows him to do! This seems super silly but it is so important that a cat can bend to properly clean themselves. 🫧🧼

🐾Obesity in cats can lead to diabetes, osteoarthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Good nutrition can make a major difference for these friends 💕

🔌A neighbor had an accident with a power line. Everyone is safe! 🤗

💡We have contacted our electric company to report the outage and are awaiting their arrival.

🐾We appreciate your patience as we try to work through any and all incoming communications. In the meantime, we are still at the office and will continue with our previously scheduled appointments.

🐾We practice every day! 🥳

P*e seems like a waste-get that dad joke? But p*e isn’t a waste at all! Veterinary teams use urine every day paired with blood and 💩 to capture a full picture of a patients health status!

ANSWER: We have skills and equipment to catch p*e and we can teach you too 🤗

💗We're thrilled for Jolie as she embarks on a new adventure, taking on the role of office coordinator for her husband's physical therapy clinic in Virden. We hope that her experience at BCVS will undoubtedly contribute to the success of their practice, providing accessible care to more people in Central Illinois. 🌟

🌱🐾Grass awn? What’s a grass awn? 🌱

🐶🌾 Also known as foxtails, these tiny pieces of plants are sharp and can become embedded in your pets fur and migrate into their skin, ears, or other body parts, causing infections and discomfort. Other places Dr. Jess has found these on examination include behind the third eyelid 👀, inside the nose 🙀 and between toes 🙈.

🐾Being vigilant when you’re walking in tall grass, regular grooming and thorough check-ups can help protect our furry friends from these little boogers! 🐾

🍍Brittany, also known as "BE," is client services representative at Ball-Chatham Veterinary Services!

🌿Brittany is the first person you will visit with when you call the office. She assists you with everything from regular scheduling to online orders and more!

🦄Brittany has many years of experience doing the hardest job in veterinary medicine. She never knows what type of call she will be taking when she answers. She does an amazing job listening, sorting information in a split second and communicating your pet's needs to the rest of our team.

💩POOP is one of the most important things you can bring to your pets appointment! 💕🐾

At Ball-Chatham Veterinary Services we use your pet’s 💩for:

1. Parasite detection: F***l samples help identify common parasites like worms, giardia, or coccidia. These parasites can cause digestive issues, weight loss, and other health problems in dogs. 🪱

2. Health check: F***l exams can reveal underlying health conditions or infections in your dog's gastrointestinal tract, such as bacterial overgrowth or inflammation. 🧫🦠

3. Preventive care: Regular f***l testing is part of routine preventive healthcare for dogs. It helps ensure early detection and treatment of any potential health issues, even if your dog is not showing any symptoms. 🌿⚕️

🐾Jeana is the first team member who greets you at your car when you arrive-rain or shine 🌧☀️

🌟She is the great communicator between you and the medical team! Jeana's work begins long before you arrive. She organizes your visit by carefully planning and preparing each exam room. Her contributions reduce stress and allow for safe handling for your pet and our team!

🐾Jeana not only makes sure you and your fur baby are comfortable, but she travels around the clinic throughout the day ensuring that our practice stays clean and organized. She also assists Brittany with any client services tasks.
