This clients Spider Plant repotting was such a satisfying project! Those monstrous roots were so compacted into the soil and so woven together I had no idea what was waiting for me inside the soil/ root block before me.

After taking my time massaging and airating the soil, it finally began loosening up. It was amazing to see how big the root system really was on this bad boy! Now in a sized up pot with fresh soil this Spider Plant is sitting pretty back by its window. ☀️

🌱If you have a plant project big or small, shoot me a message - I’ll happily consider them all. 🌱

Had such a good time playing in the dirt and repotting some plants for my local client. She has a beautiful Christmas Cactus that needs some TLC and I’m eager to see it flourish! Fresh soil and a new area for light should help it bounce back from its sunburn. 🌱

Over time, potted plants will become root bound or soil compacted. This makes it much harder for your plants to absorb nessaccary nutrients and water and can lead to slower growth and more frequent watering.

If you need a hand repotting or working with your plants reach out!

I had never seen the Bear Paw Succulent bloom and when mine started to pop flowers I was all too excited to see what would happen!

Normally I snip flowers off my succulents, since they sap resources from your plant and can attract pests, but you don’t actually have to. Succulents flower in order to reproduce. Not necessarily because they are stressed.

Your main concern when considering to leave the flowers or cut them should be Pests. Mealy Bugs, but more commonly, Aphids will hunt down the sweet smell of your blooms and infest the plant to suck it dry if vital resources. Should you want to enjoy the flowers, do it. Just look to remove them as they begin to expire or if you see pests. A healthy succulent shouldn’t suffer from blooming! 🌸

Have you ever seen anything like it?

Air Plants or “Tillandsias” are apart of the Bromeliaceae or Bromeliad species of plants. These plants do not require any soil to grow and in fact use their root system mainly as a support to hold themselves in place. They instead, receive moisture and nutrients from the air via their leaves and not a root system.

Commonly found in the jungles, mountain tops, and deserts, of Central and South America, areas in Mexico and parts of Northern America - these plants come in a variety of sizes and styles. They thrive off of bright indirect light, warmer temperatures and good air circulation. They will never need to be potted and are very gracious for those without a “green thumb.”

Caring for your Air Plants is very simple. About every 7 days just take your plants and immerse them in a bowl of room temperature water for about half an hour. After your plants have enjoyed the soak, simply remove them from the water and allow all the excess to drip off before setting them out to dry. If they live in a container or dish, allow three or four hours of drying time prior to relocating them back to their homes as these plants can be prone to rot if they are not allowed time to thoroughly dry.

Air Plants are a great way to enjoy the numerous benefits live plants offer without adding too much complication! What could be better than that?
