Wings in Flight Bird Taxidermy

Today, it’s snowing, so peaceful.

Getting the prep work done today on a Boone and Crockett Rio Turkey harvested in Utah County, Utah. We will put the back half of this bird together next week. We have another student coming in from the south in about 5 weeks to learn the Jeff Nelson way of putting these beautiful birds together. This is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. We will put the front half of this bird together during our training sessions.

These techniques can help you achieve your goals and objectively could become a State, National and a World Champion.

Looking forward to sharing our knowledge and hopefully improve their skill set to become better turkey taxidermist.

Received a Mallard-Pintail Duck from Nebraska and a Mexican-Mallard Duck from Utah! Looking forward to these down the road…

A Large Canada Goose today, young man’s first banded goose.

We recovered over 30 bb’s from the skin, had to float the left wing (no humerus bone) other wing, broken ulna and radius. Over 10 holes in the head-neck, broken right leg bone, side pockets missing feathers and pins…

Should I go on 🤣

Have you ever had a bird that maybe you shouldn’t had mounted it?

Prairie Chickens have a special place in my heart, I truly love these birds. This one had no humerus, ulna or radius bones in either of the wings, broken skull, pin feathers, broken right leg bone and both wings shot to s**t (missing a lot of feathers.

I was pushed to my limits today, I prayed for patience and my client did as well. Very pleased with the outcome and now just need to get some cotton string wrapped around the body to hold everything in place.

Win win for us and we saved this beautiful bird!
