Dogs can see through everything!! A lot of us know that our dogs can pick up on the hormones that are released in our bodies, but did you know that they can also read our micro expressions? Even better than we can read each others? Part of our class yesterday for our school for dog trainers!

Surprise!!! We’re so excited to announce that we’re starting a school for dog trainers with our sister company 🎉 We can’t wait to share our passion and knowledge with you!

To get the most out of your training and build a better relationship with your dog, you need to be in the best mind frame possible. Some things to consider trying are working out, doing yoga, meditating, praying, reading or getting out in nature. Obviously, this is not a self help guide but I would encourage you to explore some of these options, find what works for you and add that to you daily schedule. If not for you then do it for your dog.

Statistically dog owners live longer than people without them. One of the reasons sited is that they are more active because their dog gets them to go out more. Maybe your dog can also help you be motivated to improve your mental health too.

Every time you work with your dog try to be in the best possible frame of mind. Choose to be confident relaxed and happy. Your dog will respond very well to this and you will both have an incredible experience together.

Hyperactive Dogs in the home? They may need:

More exercise? Possibly, but for most dogs daily exercise isn’t enough.

They need mental stimulation (training or games) daily. This is way more exhausting for dogs than just running around. Most dogs can run for miles and miles without truly getting warn out.

Also make sure to create down time for them daily either in the crate or on the bed.

DJ trained Scooby from beginning to end in our Online Dog Training program! (swipe to see his first session vs. his last session with Scoob)

In our program our head trainer Dave takes you along the training process of four different dogs and handlers. Each person has varying degrees of dog training knowledge and experience, and every dog was completely different. Because every dog is so different, with the program you also get access to a private Facebook group where you can get all of your dog training questions answered by us weekly!

We’re going to be sharing small clips daily of DJ and Scooby’s process through the program on our IG story! Stay tuned for that🐶

A great video by 👏🏻👏🏻

She said it perfectly. No matter what type of training you want to do with your dog (service training, competition training, etc.) It all starts with a good foundation. Teaching your dog the basics has to be done correctly.

Our online training program is ALL about the basics. People always ask us if they can skip certain sections of the program because their dog already knows how to (x y or z). We always say no and recommend that you go through the whole program step by step. Our program is set up to make sure the dog knows exactly what is being ask of them and what every command, correction and reward means. Every section builds off of the last. Also most dogs that have it “down” don’t actually have the reliability. That’s what this program brings.

Giving your dog more freedom😄

The goal of our training is to build your dogs obedience as well as improve their relationship with you. Once you have that foundation of trust and obedience, you can start to allow your dog freedoms that you may have never been able to give them before. That’s what it’s all about. Put in the work so that you and your dog can have all those fun adventures. Dogs have so much potential, and most of us haven’t tapped into our dog’s yet.

What age should you start training your dog? Is your dog too old? Too young?

The best time to train your dog is right now. You’ve probably heard the saying “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” this is absolutely not true! You and your dog should be able to enjoy the time you have together, especially if there’s not a lot of time left. Training brings freedom and builds a relationship you can’t form any other way.

That being said, of course the earlier you start training the better. Ideally training would begin at 8 weeks old! This training wouldn’t look the same as with an adult dog, it would consist of mostly management. Manage your dog young, so you don’t have to correct them later.

We are going to make a whole video (maybe series) about what training should look like through the different stages of their life. Stay tuned for that👍🏼
