Chandler is a very nice middle aged boy with a sweet temperament, more of a mellow guy. Does seem to like the ladies in the house best but good with everyone. He is good with other dogs. Gunnar was a stray before coming to us so he is a little shy at first but quickly warms up & will give a butt wiggle. Erratic movements can be scary to him, so we are working on his confidence. The Coalition of All Breed Rescue of Arizona (CABRA), a nonprofit IRS 501(c)(3) organization is having another low cost microchip and vaccination clinic Sunday March 17 from 9 to 2:00 p.m. at the University of Arizona Maricopa County Cooperative Extension building on 4341 E. Broadway in Phoenix (roughly 43rd Place and Broadway and by the traffic light). NO APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY. Just come on by. Check out these other benefits

· HomeAgain microchip including registration is only $20 each. We think HomeAgain is the best. Full Service vet registration/microchip charge typically would be $50+.

· Vaccinations (parvo/distemper, rabies, or bordatella) are only $15 each if the dog/cat gets a microchip or has one ($20 each if they don't). We do have the cat equivalent of distemper shots at the same prices.

· No office visit charge. This saves you $30+

· Open to general public. Anyone can come

· Accept cash, checks, debit, or credit as payment

We use a licensed vet for the microchips and shots.

Microchips are increasingly being cited as the basis for getting lost pets back to their owners and sometimes after years of being lost. Can’t go wrong at these prices.

NOBODY thinks their dog is going to get out and get lost but the pound is full of those dogs. Even the best owners can lose a dog.

From former foster Wink’s family In memory of their much beloved and one of a kind pup:

Sometimes you get that dog of a lifetime and we sure did with Winky! For 11 years she stole our heart by bringing unconditional love and joy to our home. Winky loved everyone and everyone loved her. Winky loved hiking, getting in the garden, looking for antlers, chasing squirrels, and most of all camping! She went on dozens of RV camping trips and was the best traveler and camper anyone could ask for. Last summer, she had a big 5 week trip to seven different states. Talk about adventure- Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Going to the Sun Road, and Pikes Peak!
On August 26, 2023 we took Wink to VCA Animal hospital where they found she had a Splenic Tumor that had ruptured. Her spleen was removed. When we were checking her into VCA Animal Hospital someone said, “Is that Wink?” It was Jane Burlison! Winky lived with Jane after she had her eye removed. What are the chances! A week later, Winky was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma. She was given 1-3 months to live without treatment or 4-6 months with treatment. We went with cancer treatment. Winky was one week short of the 6 month mark, when the cancer won. It had metastasized to her liver and bladder. She passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024 at 1:30 AM at VCA Animal Hospital. She wagged her tail right up to the end. This girl never missed a beat during treatments. She never slowed down. She walked twice a day and even went camping one more time! She lived her best life.
We are lost right now. She was our constant shadow and companion. There will never be another Winky- The Best Girl!
Thank you to everyone at Aussie and Friends involved in her rescue. Thank you to VCR Animal Hospital- Oncology Dr. Jeon and Suzie! You all made our life better because of Winky!

Luna is 2-1/2 and is looking for an Aussie or dog savvy home. She is a nice girl but can be very strong minded so would benefit from an obedience class and knowing who’s boss. She will bark at strangers that come to the house so she has to be introduced. She loves having your attention and wants to be with you so would be great for doing outdoor activities. She also likes playing with other dogs. She is crate trained, house trained and will use a dog door. The puppies are still looking for their forever homes. Berry (l) a male, and Holly (r) female are almost 4 months old and both sweet as can be. They love being held and giving kisses. They are neutered/spayed, up to date on shots and are ID chipped. These two are smart little pups who are ready to learn. We took them in at Christmas and don’t know their mix but they are happy-go-lucky and very friendly pups. They will likely be on the smaller side when adults.
