Milo got adopted! After 5 months at the cafe, 8 yo Milo went to his fur-ever home where he will be a solo spoiled prince. Right before the adoption, Milo was helping our volunteer with her Lex memorial project 😻. We will miss Milo’s Disney eyes, catnip bunny kicks, and voracious appetite for treats.

Milo and Ginny announce our 3 year anniversary with some special meow-outs 🥳. We’ve had over 12,000 visitors and 110 adoptions. Our amazing group of volunteers have dedicated themselves to making each cat feel loved, especially those who come to us shy, anxious, or with medical needs. Thank you for believing in us, booking visits, and donating so generously to support our rescue mission! 😻🙏

It’s with a very heavy heart that we share that Lex, our miracle cat, has passed away 😿. Dr Anderson came to the cafe to give him the most compassionate ending and he fell asleep peacefully while licking cream cheese off our fingers.

15 year old Lex came to the cafe over two years ago in rough shape collecting medical conditions like trading cards: Diabetes, Arthritis, Irritable Bowel, Hyperthyroidism, Kidney Disease, and Heart Failure. Thanks to your support through donations and yoga fundraiser events, we were able to get Lex amazing specialty care at Mass Vet Referral Hospital in Woburn and supply our little predator with plenty of rabbit, duck, venison, alligator, board and quail from the Natural Dog and Holistic Cat in Newburyport. As a result, Lex got a second chance at life as a cafe celebrity impacting everyone who met him. We will always remember his morning greetings, fancy shirts and bow ties, barking at us for more food, head butts, and the occasional burst of play or biscuit making. He was also the rare cat that never feared the vacuum cleaner 😹

What makes this so unbelievable is that Lex had 16 lives, always bouncing back from the latest brush with death with perkiness and catitude. But this time, while he wasn’t suffering, his lagging appetite and gradual loss of mobility, made it clear he had enough of breaking records.

As he crosses that VIP Rainbow Bridge lined with exotic meats, please feel free to share any memories of Lex in the comments. And on this sad day, we ask that you embrace the phrase that our volunteer Lidia coined: “Love Like Lex.”
