Starting Corner Greens

Hey it’s Natalie here! I’m the Social Media + Marketing Manager for Corner Greens. And those people in that picture there are my parents. I thought I’d tell their story of how the Vision of Corner Greens was born. My Dad (Rob Flanders) grew up in rural New Hampshire and from a young age he was always outdoors picking berries, chopping wood, and finding ways to make money selling things on the side of the road. My Mom (Joan Flanders) grew up in upstate New York where from a young age she spent her days working at her parents’ store. Since then, she’s always had a dream of starting her own store. Joan and Rob’s passion for growing, gardening, health and wellness, animal rights, sustainability, and childhood hunger led them to create a company that merges the nostalgia of a time when food was simpler, with the modern technology of Hydroponic Farming.

The food is grown in a shipping container, meaning no-pesticides, significantly reduced water waste, and no emissions from transporting the food from one location to the next. As top-soil is being eroded and food stability issues are becoming more and more relevant, Hydroponic Farming is a major solution to many environmental food issues.

The Hydroponic Farms will be located right out side the Corner Greens Store, which will not only sell produce, but locally made goods. While Hydroponic Farming is a modern solution to current and future food and sustainability issues, the Corner Greens store aims to bring back the nostalgia of the past and provide Peachtree Corners, Norcross, and the surrounding areas with a small-town experience that allows them to support local makers and artisans while buying healthy food for their family.
