Meet our friend Reba Nell! This 11-year-old beauty is the family pet of one of our staff. See that scar on her face? This was the result of a harrowing encounter with a snake which could have been much worse, if not for quick intervention by the owners and a veterinarian. ❤️‍🩹 Reba Nell was treated with Antivenin (antivenom) and received urgent care for the wound. She recovered well, but it was a close call! 😧

May 23 is World Turtle Day 🐢 and although we do not see turtles as patients at Shadow Creek, we wanted to give a shout-out to our favorite chelonian family member, Norm Labrenz! Norm is 24 years old and spends most of his day cruising through Dr. Labrenz's yard and feasting on grass or veggies, but his favorite is anything red - like watermelon, strawberries, and tomatoes! ❤️ Happy Turtle Day, Norm!
