🐾 ❤️ 🐾 FEEL GOOD FRIDAY NEWS 🐾 ❤️ 🐾
We took in a litter of 4 dumped pups back in April. They were found during the City Cleanup Day and saved by the Pecos Proud crew. The Olson family has adopted before but weren’t sure if they were ready to adopt again. They decided to foster until they were sure. It only took 2 days and THEY ADOPTED FROSTY, from the Pecos Proud litter! Thank you, Olson’s for always opening your home to a rescue pet!!!
We also had an amazing visit from Best Friends Animal Society! Thank you Ms. Chan for making the trip to Pecos to see how y’all can help us save more Pecos pets!!!
Ready to splash again, ?! We are pleased to announce that our Splash Pad is now open! 💦😎☀️
We appreciate your patience as our team worked hard to resolve the issue. Our hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday, from 12 pm to 8 pm. Please note that we are closed on Mondays for maintenance. We look forward to welcoming you!
Come buy your water from us at Night in Old Pecos from 5 PM - 12 AM! 💦😎
Biscuit is an absolutely, pawsitively, hands down a sweetheart. He thinks he’s a lap puppy so shhhh don’t tell him he isn’t! He’s the best hiking buddy too!!! He’s everything great someone could want in a big boy! If you are interested in adopting this Pecos fella, please reach out to One Tail at a Time West Texas
We’ll keep mum on the question of his spatial awareness, but can say for sure that Biscuit is quite possibly the *nicest* dog we’ve ever rescued.
‼️🐾‼️PUPDATE‼️🐾‼️
You all remember the momma dog that gave birth in the shelter on Christmas??? Petty Wendy came and took them all to her house until Path of Hope Rescue could take them around Valentine’s Day. So she became known as Momma Valentine. Fast forward to 2 days ago… her new name is SAMMIE AND SHE IS AT HER FOREVER HOME!!! It truly takes a village to save these animals and we have made some amazing connections along the way! So many people have had a hand in this rescue story, foster here, foster in Austin with Austin Pets Alive!, transport drivers, receiving rescue, fosters in Washington, and now the adopters!!! Happy Tails from Texas Sweet Sammie!!!

We also have a few crates if you need to borrow one!
If your dog doesnt currently have anxiety with fireworks, the best advice is not create any! Most of the time humans inadvertently create the anxious behavior by trying to calm and reassure the dog.
The best thing to do is create some fun during the fireworks! Try some training with yummy high value treats. Ignore the fireworks completely. See if you can get the dog to play the name game with you and work on focus.

🐾❤️🐾We have had a full house of pups this year and THEY EAT A LOT!!! Thank you so very much to Tractor Supply Co. Pecos for this amazing donation that we are able to share with our local rescues as well as use in the shelter! Officer Bradfield and Summer Intern Diamond didn’t mind this morning workout. Thank you Tractor Supply Pecos for always remembering our shelter and rescue pets🐾❤️🐾
With all the negativity going on today, we would like to share an amazing story about 3 dumped terriers! A man and his daughters saw these babies on 2nd and Alamo. He picked them up and we were not able to locate a momma so we know they were DUMPED. The shelter was completely full and the pups were suffering from exhaustion and the heat. We started making calls and given the go ahead to give them shots AND PRAY that they recovered. OTAT volunteer showed up and got them tagged for the very next trip to Chicago. The Tyler Childers band and road crew ADOPTED ALL OF THEM!!! Wow what a story!!! I’m totally not crying as I type this!!!!
‼️MISSING PUP‼️HE IS HOME!!! Thank you all!!

Ruby was abandoned on the Northside just outside of town. She was living on an old couch and in very poor condition. An awesome family found her and fell in love. They officially adopted her and today she is at Dr. Box getting spayed. We have her started on her vaccines. She loves her new family and they love her even more! Happy tails, Ruby!!!

🐾🎄🐾December Adoptions🐾🎄🐾
I’ve had a lot going on at the shelter and forgot to post these beauties that have been adopted! Both pups came in as scared, unhealthy, and nervous. Thanks to your donations and support and help from our volunteers, King and Crushi were adopted out to two families in town as super healthy, fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, leash trained, playful dogs!
🛑 Look 👀 at Alexis , she's looking for a family 👪 . As a puppy 🐶 She will need alot of play time 🥎. She's pretty worried she won't find a home 🏡 before Christmas 🎄, but we promised her Santa 🎅 wouldn't let us down and a family 👨👩👦 for her was just around the corner! 🥰
To adopt pm us or Pecos Animal Shelter
Let’s have some fun as a community… the shelter staff and a few pups will be participating this year 🐾🎄🐾
🐾🎄🐾CHRISTMAS PARADE🐾🎄🐾
Thank you so very much to all our volunteers and helpers that made our parade entry possible! This was the shelters first year to enter a parade, and it was a blast!

Holiday season is here! We want to remind everyone of some important pet safety reminders! These popular holiday plants are very toxic to pets. If you have them in your home, we recommend keeping them out of reach from your furry best friends!
