National Farriers Week, which takes place July 7-13, is a time when we recognize the contributions that farriers make to the equine industry. American Farriers Journal is celebrating the 21st anniversary of National Farriers Week in two ways this year.

First, we are inviting farriers to share stories about their industry mentors. Who has been an influence in your career, and possibly your life? Now is your chance to honor that farrier. If you submit a Mentor Tribute by May 24 you could be featured in the July/August print issue of American Farriers Journal.

Second, we are welcoming tributes to farriers from other farriers, horse owners, riders, veterinarians, trainers, grooms and other members of the equine community for our digital feature, Farriers Spotlight. These tributes, which are due July 1, can include photos, videos and stories.

We will share your submissions during Farriers Week on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and on our website, AmericanFarriers.com.

The contributions farriers make to the equine industry are invaluable. Help us recognize them for the work they do. Submit your photos, videos and stories now on our website. Please make sure to include your full name and location with your submission, as well as the full name and location of the farrier you are recognizing.

Thank you in advance! We look forward to sharing your tributes.

If your farrier is reliable, talented, has an eye for angles and works well with your horses, it is important that you keep him or her onboard.
